Gabi was anxious. She and Falco both had an assignment due in next week about some inspirational advice two adults once gave them, but she couldn't think of a time when they had. "You got anything yet, Gabi?" Falco asked to which Gabi shook her head. "Well, why don't we go ask the Jaeger brothers?"

"Why them?" Gabi asked. She hadn't meant for it to come out as rude as it had, she was just confused as to why the blonde was suggesting the duo went to find them since Zeke was always messing around and Eren didn't like to talk to anyone that wasn't Zeke, Levi, or Historia.

"I just feel like they'd give really good advice, ya know?" Sighing, the brunette girl agreed and so they started on their search for the Jaeger brothers. Eventually they found Eren reading a book but still didn't know where Zeke was. "Eren!"

"Yea?" Eren asked, looking up at the sound of Falco's immediately making Gabi wonder why.

"Gabi and I need your help," the boy explained quickly. Eren nodded, sitting down with the two as Falco continued. "We have an assignment due in next week about advice two adults once gave us but neither of us can remember a time we were given any good advice. Any ideas?"

Eren paused, thinking for a moment before nodding. "There's a saying my father always used to tell me; yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift – that is why it is called a present." Falco's eyes lit up in wonder as he was quick to write it down, as did Gabi. "I've always thought back to it and, I hate to admit it, but my old man is right in what he says. Live everyday like it's a gift."

"Thank you, Eren!" Falco thanked enthusiastically, quickly jotting down what the brunette had just told them before rushing off to find Zeke. Gabi glanced down at what she had written down before glancing over at Eren who was looking off towards his book once again. Looking away from the man, Gabi quickly went to find Falco to help him find Zeke.

After ten minutes of searching, they eventually found him. "Heard from Eren you two were looking for me for some advice, eh?" the blonde asked, leaning back in his chair. The duo nodded. "Well, let's see... You gotta put your past behind ya. Look kids, bad things happen and you can't do anything about it, right?"

"Right..." Falco nodded. Zeke chuckled before shaking his head.

"Wrong!" he chuckled. "When the world turns it's back on you, you turn your back on the world. It's advice Eren and I's father gave us when we were about... five or six. He told us it after our... after our mother died." Gabi and Falco nodded, staying silent when they noticed the sombre look on the adult's face before he shook his head, flashing the duo a smile. "But yeah, that's the advice I got for you kiddos. Good luck on your assignment." With that Zeke walked off, taking a shuddering breath. The two kids watched him go before glancing at each other and deciding that it would be best to leave the blonde alone for a while. He was still grieving his mother's death, even if it was many years ago since her passing. Looking away from each other, they decided to finish their assignments now that they had everything they needed.
