As they pulled up to the restaurant, he opened her door and escorted her on his arm. She found it strange since he made it clear of their friendship and yet the kiss lingered upon her lips and thoughts.
"Where do you want to sit?" He asked as he looked around quickly and scanned who was in Holmes.
"Back corner. Closest to the kitchen." She said as he smiled.
"I love the way you think." He said with a smile before leading her to the back.
Sitting across from her, he looked up as she looked at the menu and watched as she tossed her hair over her shoulder and exposed her neck. He began breathing heavy-and she noticed. It became incredibly clear just how much he wanted to be "friends".
"Do you see anything that looks good?" She asked, using an ironic comment from his racing pulse.
He let out a short breath before nodding. He found he was unable to talk.
"Yes."
He went to reach for her hand on the table when the waiter came up. He was tall, slender, and paying complete attention to Derrik.
"What can I get for you love birds?"
"We aren't together." He said before looking back at the menu. Scarlett glared at him as he was looking away.
