Lara

I ran in my unnatural speed towards the base were I was turned.

When I arrived I saw that the once grand, aged and beautiful castle in which I first saw the world through my immortal eyes was now a burned dilapidated shell.

How could they?

I made my way towards the threshold I escaped through that night. The door was gone all with most of the walls and windows. The stables raised to the ground. The room in which I arose now reduce to four burned walls.

Looking at this caused my heart to shattered. I was again filled with that feeling of dread and emptyness my heart was like a gaping chasm. Open.

I was filled with rage.

All those books all the memories  and emotions I felt. My time here was short and for the most part delightful, bitterly delightful. Filled with a sense of belonging. I was not a stranger, not an outcast, something that the outside world make me feel. Unlike my ties to my family, empty emotions and carefully picked words. My time here felt full, warm and trustful. A family that even though without notice or even thought I had joined, that I reluctantly joined, I enjoying the time with them. My plans of escape long gone after their show of constant affection. These Walls hold that to me.

I began to cry. Gasping for air I knew I did not need I cried and when I let out a breath a tortured Sob came with it.I was not crying in sorrow but in pain. I felt as if a part of me was burning as this sacred place would have.

My cries were halted by a scent that rushed to my nostrils. It was familiar. I started to follow it. Part of me is praying that this scent belonged to someone that survived the attack like me.

I was now standing about a kilometer away from a big castle that was nestled within a few cliffs of a mountain. I was about to move towards it when I heard footsteps behind me. They followed the same unnatural pattern as mine. My hand was about to reach for the dagger but two beautiful woman emerged from the tree line. They see me and stop their conversation. I give a small smile.

"Hi' said the one with a brunette hair and bright red eyes.

"Hi" I responded shyly.

"Are you also attending the jubilee." Said the other with darker hair and darker eyes.

"Yes!" I responded quite enthusiastically.

They curtsied at me and I did the same like when Mrs Smith did when she saw another vampire when we went on our long walks at night.

They walked Infront of me the rest of the way until we reached the gates that's when I encountered my first problem.

The guards.

The ladys ahead of me simply stated their name and title. I took a deep breath and strode confidently towards the guards. They greet me.

"Name?"the tall guard said.

" Lara Shabalala I am Lord and Lady Smith's plus-" I stopped not sure what I should call myself.

"You are Lady L.L.Smith" He said. He was not wrong in the sense that my initials were correct but my surname was different.

"Lord and Lady Smith has left a message for you." He said now handing me a letter.

     Dearest Lara

Please don't let your grief blind you open your eyes tonight.

The letter opener is your refuge tonight.

 Josephine.

What?

I walked in to the castle grounds and found a candle at the corner of the court yard and burnt the letter.

I followed the other guests as they walked towards the main hall.

When I entered the main door the servants were giving the guests beautiful chalices made of gold. A short brown haired girl handed me one and I took it with a small thank you. I took a small sip and realized it was human blood. I guess I will have to find a willing participant before the end of the night.

Walking into the main hall I had three objectives. Find Josephine and ask her how she knew about the letter opener, find someone to feed from and kill the king.

I was about to fulfill objective one when I was grabbed by the waist and guided to the dance floor.

I looked at who was the imbecile who had the nerve

It was objective number three. The king

"Tell me Lady Lara are your intentions pure for this lovely jubilee." He asked as he held my hands and began to lead the dance.

"No your highness." I said with a snarl as I began to lead the dance.

"Good!" He said with a smile.

I looked at him with confusion.

"My intention were not pure when I invited you" he said as he gazed into my eyes with a sinister grin on his face.

He regained the lead as we danced but before I could say or do anything else I saw something move in my peripheral vision. One of the men had made a mad dash towards us his eyes glued on the king his eyes had a feral look about them. I then noticed he brandished a dagger.

I pushed the king off me with all my might and then luanched myself at the man sinking my teeth into his neck and let that sweet and sour metallic taste fill my mouth.

I was now on my knees panting from the exhilarating felling I got from feeding from the vampire who was now almost dead but still grasping at me as if holding me would bring back his life. And with that I decided to put an end to his misery and pulled out the letter opener and plunged it into his neck and he went quite.

My senses were returning to me and that's when I realized that everyone had their eyes on me. They looked horrified.

The guards rushed to me and grabbed me.

I was still stuck in a haze so I just let them lift me and drag me away.

I think I was already in the dungeon when I realized what was happening.
