The moment Sicheng exited the college campus, a voice greeted him

The moment Sicheng exited the college campus, a voice greeted him. "Well, well. It's my little slut!"

Sicheng shut his eyes tight. Why, oh why, did his ex have to round up in front of the campus?

"What are you doing here, Ji-hoon?", he muttered lowly.

"Can't I see my baby boy?", he chuckled.

"Stop calling me names!", Sicheng shouted. "You did nothing but use me! Why don't you go to your new toy? I'm sure they're waiting for you."

Sicheng was suddenly slammed into a wall. "Don't you dare shout at me, slut.", Ji-hoon growled in his ear. "You're a slut and you always will be. You deserve nothing. You deserve to be used and ruined. You're just so useless."

Sicheng whimpered. The throbbing pain at the back of his head wasn't helping much.

Ji-hoon again slammed Sicheng's head against the wall. He whimpered again. He could feel the sticky liquid running down from his head.

"You're just a slut. A whore. Makes me want to destroy you. Useless fucking whore.", Ji-hoon spat.

"Hey! What's going on?", a voice suddenly shouted. It was Yuta. "Leave him alone!"

Ji-hoon was startled. He left Sicheng and ran away. Sicheng felt dizzy. He slid down the wall, and sat on the pavement. He could make out Yuta kneeling in front of him.

"Sicheng? Are you okay? Talk to me!", he called out.

"I-I..", Sicheng muttered before his vision faded to black.

🍀

Sicheng woke up feeling groggy. His head still ached, but the pain wasn't unbearable. As he observed his surroundings, he came to realize that he wasn't at his home.

There were files stacked neatly in a shelf, copies in another. Small showpieces decorated the barren desk.

The creaking noise of the door broke him out of his observation. To his surprise, it was Professor Nakamoto. Was he at his apartment then?

"Are you feeling better, Sicheng?", he asked gently.

Sicheng nodded.

"I hope you're not uncomfortable here. I didn't know what to do after you lost consciousness. I didn't have your address, so I couldn't drive you to your home.", Yuta shyly rubbed his nape.

Sicheng let out an airy chuckle. "I'm fine here, Professor Nakamoto. Thank you for taking care of me."

"Yuta.", the Japanese suddenly said.

"Huh?", Sicheng tilted his head.

"Call me Yuta when we're alone.", he said.

The Chinese nodded.

"If you don't mind Sicheng, may I ask who that was? Was it your bully?"

Sicheng looked away. Never in a million years did he think that one of his ex-boyfriends would bully him like this. "He was my ex.", he took a deep breath.

"Your ex? Why would he do something like this to you?"

"I don't know..", the student sighed. "He thinks I'm his toy apparently. To be honest, none of my boyfriends have ever treated me with love. They've all used me and ditched me."

"That's just not done..", Yuta frowned.

"Well, maybe luck is not on my side when it comes to falling in love.", the younger forced a smile. "I think I should get going, Prof- Yuta. Ten must be worried."

"Are you sure you'll be able to go alone? Will I drive you there?", the older questioned.

"I'll be fine.", the Chinese shook his head.

"Okay then. Off of you go. Wouldn't want to keep your friend waiting. I'll see you tomorrow after college, Sicheng. Take care on your way back.", Yuta smiled.

"Thank you.", Sicheng bowed.

They both bid their goodbyes, one blushing like crazy and one smiling like an idiot.

🍀

"Where have you been? I was worried sick!", Ten jumped on Sicheng the moment he entered apartment.

Sicheng set his bag down and relayed the incident to his best friend.

"I'm not going to leave him! Who does he think he is to treat you like this?", Ten balled his hands into fists.

"Ten, calm down. We can't really do anything. I just have to look after myself.", the younger shrugged. "Enough about me! Any progress with Johnny?"

Ten blushed. "Johnny asked me out on a date."

"Oh my God! Really?! I'm so happy for you!", Sicheng hugged him tightly.

They both giggled.

Even if Sicheng had no parents or family in his life, he was really grateful for his friends. They showed him that life was not meaningless and that a break-up didn't mean the end of a world. He learnt to love, trust and open up to them. His friends always had his back in his times of need. They completed him. They were his family.

And he loved them oh so deeply.
