"The wedding is in two months, Yuta. You have to tell your father."
"Yeah, hyung. Mom's right."
A frustrated Yuta ran his hand through his hair. Yes, his mother and brother both knew about his relationship with Sicheng, and they were very supportive. But the only thing left now was to tell Yuta's father. The wedding was just around the corner, he needed to break the news to Ji-ah and his father.
Jaemin, who was seated on Yuta's bed, saw his brother deep in worry with a frown curving his lips down. He loved his brother dearly and it caused him pain to see him upset. Even though they had a 7 year-old age gap, they were very close to each other and kept no secrets. "Hyung," he nudged Yuta lightly, "What's the matter?"
"I don't...I can't do this. I can't break the news to father.", he put his face in his hands. "It can ruin everything! He might never let me do my job. And...and if he knows about Sicheng, then I might not be able to ever meet him!", Yuta exclaimed, on the verge of breaking down. He knew how dangerous his father was. His father would never want a homophile heir to his company, especially his son. If that meant breaking off all ties with the outside world and forcing an arranged marriage, then he'd do that.
"Oh darling," his mother sat beside him, "We'll make sure he doesn't do anything of that sort. When you don't want to get married, then you need to tell him."
"Ji-ah already knows, Mom! Why can't she say anything?", Yuta rested his head on his mother's shoulder.
"You know Ji-ah is nothing of the sort, hyung. She's already gotten her marriage decided in a wealthy house, why would she tell father that you don't want the marriage? She's just here for the money, I'm sure of it.", Jaemin voiced out.
"You're right...", their mother trailed off. "Yuta? Does Sicheng know? About this marriage?", she suddenly asked.
Yuta's face contorted into a guilty expression. "No, he doesn't.", he quietly said.
"What! Why?", his mother and brother both asked in unison.
"I don't know..I'm afraid it'll ruin our relationship. What if he thinks I'm fornicating with her behind his back?", he out a strangled sound between a cry and a laugh. "I can't afford to lose him, I love him so much. I won't lose him.", he whispered the last part more like a reassurance to himself, a stray tear making its way down his cheek.

"Yuta?"
The older hummed, dozing off to the feeling of Sicheng's lithe fingers threading gently through his hair. They were on a little date in their usual spot by the lake. Today, they were sitting by the bank on the grass, Yuta's head on Sicheng's lap as they admired the beautiful scenery.
"I love you."
Yuta looked up at Sicheng. "I love you too, petal.", he pressed a kiss inside the palm of the younger's hand. "But what's with the sudden confession?"
"It's just that...you mean so much to me. I've said 'I love you' to my exes, but it was never from the bottom of my heart. But I truly love you, Yuta. Just promise me you won't break my heart.", the Chinese smiled at the older.
Yuta was silent. He hadn't told Sicheng about the wedding yet. Eventually, Sicheng has to know. But not today, no. Yuta will tell Sicheng one day, before the wedding, but that day would not be today. So he kept a promise.
A promise he had to break.
"I promise I won't hurt you, Sicheng."
🍀
Sicheng was walking down the corridor of his college, when suddenly a hand pulled him into a dark corner. He was about to scream, but he soon calmed down when he smelt that crisp pine smell.
Yuta's aftershave.
He was soon greeted with a pair of lips on his and he eagerly kissed back. "What happened? Missed me much?", Sicheng giggled, his hands on Yuta's chest.
"A lot.", Yuta replied, booping their noses together.
"What if someone sees us?"
"No one's gonna see us, baby. It's dark in here. Just relax."
Sicheng exhaled, as he buried his head in the older's neck, smelling his scent. "I'm so tired..", he murmured. "And hungry...Yuta I want food."
The older let out a laugh, "I'll make something when you come to my home after college. What do you want to eat?"
"Um...ramen!", the younger's eyes lit up.
"Ramen?", Yuta let out a chuckle, "You're only hungry for ramen?"
"Yuta...", the younger whined, playfully slapping his lover's chest.
"Okay, okay fine! I'll make it for you. Now, get back to class. It's supposed to start in a few minutes."
The younger hummed, not letting go of Yuta. Finally after lots of promises of food, he reluctantly let go of the older. Their lips met for one last kiss, cherishing the moment.
They were so into their own world, that they failed to hear the click of a camera resonating through the empty corridor.
