Chapter 21- Save Him

Tommy POV

Tommy sighed, his head laying on his hands. Why did he have to get punished? He understood but that didn't mean he agreed with it.

"You sure you'll be alright?" Tubbo questioned, pulling his shoes on.

Tommy nodded, offering a slight smile. "You go have fun. Don't let me keep you back." 

Ranboo came behind him, looking rather nervous. "I can still stay with you..."

"You'll see me when you get back." Tommy grinned, standing up. Swinging an arm over the boy's shoulder, he said, "Besides I don't want Tubbo going alone."

Tubbo gave him a thumbs up, glancing back to Ranboo. "You ready to see the view?"

"You won't fly?" Ranboo asked, looking at him wearily. 

The brunette shook his head firmly. "I promise, I'll be by your side so much that you'll probably get sick of me." he joked, earning a smile from Ranboo.

Ranboo gave him a small smile, nodding. "Okay."

The duo waved goodbye to Tommy, heading out of the cabin. Tommy watched them walk out of sight, a sigh on his lips. He was alone.

"You alright Toms?" the blonde turned to the voice, seeing Wilbur in the doorway.

Tommy shrugged. "I guess." Glancing behind him, he saw Wilbur pulling on his shoes. "Are you heading out with Niki?"

"Yeah, but Dream and Techno will still be here for a little while. And Phil of course." Wilbur ruffled his hair, earning a whine from the blonde.

"Do you have to do that?" Tommy complained, trying to flatten his now messy hair.

Wilbur laughed, "What kind of a brother would I be if I didn't mess with your hair?"

Tommy rolled his eyes.

"Niki, you ready yet?" the brunette called, throwing a hat onto his head.

"Coming!" Niki shouted back, appearing at the end of the hallway. She was like everyone else, a pair of wings on her back. They were a soft white, encased in pink. 

"You take forever." Wilbur teased, standing by the door.

The girl rolled her eyes. "You're just early." she huffed, waving to Tommy. "Sorry you can't come with us Toms." A sad smile was painted on her face.

Tommy sighed, "Yeah, it's stupid. But at least it's not the entire vacation."

Wilbur nodded, smiling, "I still think you did the right thing. You protected Ranboo against some idiots." He thought for a moment before he added, "If it were me I probably would have taught him a lesson."

"So you're proud?" the blonde raised an eyebrow.

"Of course I am!" the brunette exclaimed, his wings ruffling up. "And Dad is too, even if he's a bit hesitant to admit it."

"Admit what?" a yawn came from behind them.

"Nothing! See ya later Dad!" Wilbur stood up, heading for the front door. Niki rolled her eyes before following.

Phil stopped in front of Tommy, sighing. "You alright Tommy?"

Tommy nodded, staring out the window. He bit his lip, watching as more and more people headed towards the lookout. 

Techno and Dream left as well, waving back to Phil. "Be home by dinner!" 

Phil took a deep breath before sitting beside Tommy. "I'm sorry Tommy."

"It's fine." Tommy shrugged, looking at his father. "I suppose you're right in the sense that I shouldn't have punched him. But I still don't regret protecting Ranboo."

The man nodded, completely understanding. "I'm glad you did."

Suddenly a bad feeling formed a pit in his stomach, urging him to look out the window again. His eyes searched outside, uncertain of what he was even looking for.

And that's when he saw it, the bullies.

They were headed straight for the lookout with evil smirks. Tommy's eyes widened.

They weren't going to leave Ranboo alone, they were too persistent for that. 

Jumping to his feet, he grabbed the door knob, ready to run after them.

"Tommy! Where are you-"

"I have to protect him!" Tommy shouted, watching as they got further and further ahead. He turned back to Phil for a moment. 

"Ground me all you want. But I can't let them hurt Ranboo or Tubbo."
