I sat up, rubbing my eyes.
* What...happened?
I asked Dylan, relieved to have clear vision again as I put on my glasses. He looked at me with concern. Something bad had happened.
* I'm sorry...
He was sorry?
* Brother, tell me what happened.
He looked at me and held my hand.
* Mother is dead, Eliza.
His eyes watered as he said those words. He had to be lying... he h-had to be!
* Mother is strong! She could've-
* I saw her die... Eliza.
He began to cry, I hugged him while beginning to cry myself. Father had most likely died too...we were orphans... lonely.
Years later:
Dylan's point of view:
We moved into the Overground, after the loss of our mother and father. Everybody looked at my sister and I weirdly as they noticed we'd settled in. Nobody else had purple or bright blue eyes.
They're a weird pair, the lot of them.
Are they siblings? Where are their parents?
I heard the girl was a witch!
They're not humans? If they have dangerous magic, we should call the numbers they tell us in the news!
* Dylan, these neighbours will do my head in!
* Ah don't worry about them, they'll get over themselves eventually.
Eliza was using magic to make breakfast as she set up the table.
She was 12 now.
I casted a spell, turning on music. She seemed so happy nowadays. I mean, I enrolled her in a great school, she was learning to play the piano, we had a cosy house. Everything was good. 😌
Eliza's View:
The voices has disappeared after a while, and life felt at peace again. Until one winter day when we received a knock on the door. I quickly stopped using magic to warm up the house and opened the door.
* Good day Sir, how may I help you?
* Eliza we need you to come with us, your house has been reported multiple times for magic readings.
I stood frozen.
* Magic? I wish! Can we wait for my brother to get home please?
* He's already with us.
* ...
They grabbed me, putting me in their car. I remained silent. We arrived at a lab. Were they planning on running tests on us?
* S-Sir you must be mistaken, I don't use m-
* Stop trying to hide it. We've been trying to get rid of you people for a while.
* You people?
* Dangerous criminals, the lot of you.
I sighed, casting a spell without them realising. We walked inside the large building and I saw Dylan in another room, another spell I cast. He winked at me, I know he had the same idea.
* I need to use the toilet..
* It can wait.
I used my classic puppy eyes. They let me go for 30 seconds. More than enough time.
Dylan's View:
I connected my magic to Eliza spell. I clicked my fingers, we were teleported outside, leaving those inside to forget about us. We high fived.
* Good job, sis!
* Why thank you, brother!
We teleported home, quickly packing our things. Thank goodness for Plan B. We had a summer house all the way in London, we'd be fine there.
Six Years Later...
* Dylan, no.
* Eliza don't worry, I'll be fine!
* It's not safe!
* As long as we keep a low profile, tell never find us.
* We don't need to take that r-
The walls broke down all around us, Dylan created a protective bubble around us.
* HER CHILDREN, THEY'RE HERE!
I teleported us outside the house. This is what I was fearing. Dangerous people put to get us. They wanted power, they wanted revenge.
* Watch out!
Dylan casted a spell, stopping the boulders being throws at us. It was us against people out for blood at this point. We continued fighting to protect one another but we could tell...we were exhausted.
* Eliza, promise me you won't stop running until you're safe.
* Only if you promise me the same!
I blasted of another attacker.
* I'll stop running for the both of us, little sis...
He held my hand so I would stop attacking. Guns were aimed at us at all angles.
* It's okay Eliza, we've caused them enough discomfort...
* B-But we didn't do ANYTHING wrong! We just wanted to live in peace!
Dylan hugged me tightly, trying to comfort me, tell me it would all be okay. I couldn't believe him...
A tranquil dart stabbed him and he fell to the floor, before he could pass out, he teleported me far...far away. I stood, speechless. I thought I had finally recovered from such a loss but no... life will never be fair like that...
