Eliza (Book 1)

.+* Chapter 13 - Issues *+.

People were arguing as I opened my eyes. I was in a room all alone.

* I know you may not believe me, but I don't lie I swear!

More arguing. I opened the door to see Sofia, Star....and Dylan. We all blankly looked at each other.

* Nope. I'm not doing this today.

I closed the door and leaped straight back into the bed. They opened the door but only Star and Dylan came in.

* Guys please...I really can't do this.

Ellie's View:
I thanked Asgore and his helpers for my speedy recovery as I teleported back home, expecting to see an apologetic Eliza. But...nobody was home. After a while, Emily came.

* Oh, hey!
I smiled at her.

'Hi. Hey, can I have your soul? I can make it more powerful.' said asked me.

It was odd. I should've taken those red flags the moment they came, but I didn't.

* I'm more powerful than most people.

'I can make you immortal..!' She put her hand out towards me.

* I like competition, I won't get any if I'm immortal!
I exclaimed.

'Just give it to me, Ellie.' Her face changed suddenly.

* No thanks.

She came up to me, forcing it out of my chest. My eyes widened as I rushed towards her to get it back.

'I'm sorry to have to do this Ellie, but it's for the best..' she crushed my soul with her bare hands.

Everything went blurry and still as a high pitched ringing bombarded me. The sound of dusting away was heard as everything went black.

I was...dead.

Eliza's View:
I opened a portal angrily.

* Eliza, how could you hide something like this?!

* Dylan just DROP IT.

* You're my sister, you're supposed to tell me these things..!

* YOU WERE DEAD, I COULDN'T TELL YOU ANYTHING.

I closed the portal behind me, walking into the house. Emily was there.

* Where is everyone...?

While Emily started to tell me how everyone else had gone out, I saw a small...small spec of dust on the carpet. It wasn't any dust...it was monster dust..

I used magic, scanning the dust, it was Ellie's. Th-That couldn't be.

* Ellie's dust...t-that's Ellie's dust! Did you see anyone come in here?!

'Well, I saw a hooded figure but that's about it.'

* Whoever it was killed Ellie!

Emily glared at me, I started to get even more worried.

'There could only be one person.' she looked down at Ellie's dust and frowned.

* Who?!

'You.' She looked up at me, with a still...cold face.

Me?!

'Everyone else is out doing something, and you only seemed to come back home after the hooded figure teleported off. You were supposed to be on house arrest after all.'

* I was in the afterlife with Star and Sofia and-

'They're mad at you right now, why would I believe that stupid lie. I'm calling Grim.' She picked up her phone.

Stress and anxiety ran through me as I sat down to process all this. It was all to much. My adopted daughter - Ellie - had just been recently murdered in our own house. All the evidence was against me...I was the only one supposed to be home, and if I denied being home I would be punished by the King for bypassing his punishment. But, guards knew I had left home...they chased me after all. They must've told the King by now and that would mean-

There was a knock on the door.

Emily finished speaking to Grim and opened the door, there were two guards standing on either side of the King as he entered.

* I decided to go light on you and you really decided to disrespect me like this.

He threw the table across the room in frustration. Coming closer and closer to me, my heart sped up in fear.

* I h-had t-to! Aurora was-

* She's a CHILD. You're out of your mind!

The guards grabbed me on either side, attracting me to magic suppression chains.

* Please stop this-!

* Take her to the castle dungeons, and get in contact with Dr Grim.

Hours later...

I walked around the prison cell anxiously, when a guard opened me, taking me to Asgore and Grim.

* Grim!

The guard didn't let me go to him, and Grim didn't turn his face.

* Do you really think he'll defend you this time? You killed his daughter.

* Asgore you need to understand, I wouldn't do something like this!

* Cameras say otherwise.

He scrolled down the projector, showing footage of...me...this HAD to be fake!

"How could you do this, Eliza."

* Grim I-

"I know you had things going on but you have no right to take it out on Ellie." He turned to face me, looking disappointed.

* ...I would never hurt someone I love.

"Yet you hurt me."

Those words caused something deep in my heart to shatter like glass.

* Grim once again I'm very sorry for your loss. Eliza will stay on house arrest until guards come to take her to the overground. She's being banished from here.

He nodded.

This has to be a nightmare...this couldn't be real..
We went home, Grim didn't say a word to me. When we did, he sat down in silence.

* Grim you HAVE to believe me, all the things I'm being accused of..it's a lie!

He didn't reply.

* The evidence is stacked against me but you have to believe me it wasn't me! Aurora placed the device, she's had news, your 'good side' was there when Celeste told us! I had to get out of the house to stop her from taking other people's magic. A-And Ellie...I wasn't home..I was with Star, Sofia and Dylan.

Grim slammed his hand on the table, making me jump in surprise.

"You've upset everyone. My sister, citizens, yet you still try to look so innocent. Eliza how could you do this?!"

* I didn't! Grim you KNOW I would never kill anyone! I know I owe the world to people and I regret the pain I caused in those 30 years but-

"But what? You have other things going on? You're so selfish and self-centred.." Grim stood up and opened the door, guards were here.

* Grim, you HAVE to believe me, please!

He told the guards I was ready. How could he really believe them..? I looked at Grim one last time before going with the guards. People looked at me in disgust, yelling insults at me. I deserved it after all...
