Eliza (Book 1)

.+* Chapter 27 - Resting *+.

Eliza's View:
The surgery was finally over but I hadn't woken up. They returned me to my room.

"* How did it go?!" Grim and Ellie asked in unison.

The doctor explained that they won't know if the surgery was a complete success until I woke up, and that was unknown at the current time. The doctor left the room.

* Dad we should really go home, Eliza is in good hands.

"I'm fine Ellie."

* Dad c'mon, it's been two weeks. 

"You won't change my decision."

Ellie crossed her arms. She opened a portal and left...Grim held my hand. I felt it. Tears whirled up in his eyes before he began to cry. I felt so bad for him. He felt guilty for not being there on time...for not protecting me.

But it wasn't his fault.
It was only mine.

Ellie's View:
I teleported back home only to see a solider, Sorren, Player and a new person. Her name was Jess. She had wings; that was pretty cool if I do say so myself. Eliza and Grim refused to leave my mind. Grim stayed with her and I left, did that mean that I didn't care? But I did, I think.

How did you know that you cared about someone?

I didn't know. But I wanted to help myself to find out.

Sofia's View:
Aurora was baking with me; we were making some cupcakes! We haven't done that in a very long time. She added sprinkles and I finished swirling chocolate frosting on them. Cupcakes were exactly what I was craving at the time.

* Yummy! I'll go get dad to try some.

Aurora smiled as she left the room. I sat down and ate a cupcake. There was something about these last few weeks of pregnancy that make me sad yet strangely excited. Another baby girl was going to enter our lives and as excited as I was, fear rose inside of me.

I went to the freezer and took a tub of ice cream out. But before I could enjoy it, Star took my hand and twirled me around.

^ As delicious as ice cream is, the doctor said we have to keep the baby healthy.

I smiled as he took a cupcake and used magic to make it light up. He ate it and complimented it.

* They taste awesome!
Aurora exclaimed, finishing her own. I couldn't help but get all emotional. I must've been a very lucky girl to get such a loving family. We all went to the living room to play some board games. Half an hour through a game of monopoly, Ellie walked in through a portal.

* Hey Ellie! How are y-

Ellie sat down with us. She looked neutral, a bit too neutral.

^ Is everything alright, Ellie...?

She stared blankly at us.

* Do you think I care about you guys?
She asked.

What an odd question.

^ Well...do you feel as if you care?

* I don't feel.

^ Well if someone got hurt, would You help them?

* It depends on the person.

Eliza's View:
Grim was reading when Dylan teleported back.

* They HAVE to be alive.

* Why would they hide like this? Hide from us to be exact.

They were alive...and their children were 'dead'. Why wouldn't they try to find us? It made no sense. We both loved them so very much, they had no reason to do this...they had no idea how miserable we were without them.
