Eliza (Book 1)

.+* Chapter 18 - Time *+.

Eliza's View:
I got up to walk about a bit to ease the headache, I had work after all. Oh right I didn't say did I? Asgore had appointed me to be a magic guardian of the timeline. He finally realised that my magic can be dangerous in the wrong hands, but I'm not dangerous as a person. I got to work with Grim whenever I wanted.

I was washing my tea cup when I noticed that the snow outside was floating with...purple magic. Was I doing that?! I immediately undid it. Don't tell me this concussion was causing irregular magic flow. I teleported to Grim's lab where I found him working.

"Eliza, are you SURE you can work today? I told Asgore what happened and he said you could rest if you needed to." Grim stood up and walked over to me.

I smiled.

* Grim really, I'm f-

A bowl went flying at him, I stopped it quickly. Oops-

* Sorry! Sorry..

He crossed his arms.

* I'll be fine, let's get to work. 🙂

And so we did. I wanted to develop my magic more, sure I knew some spells but they were more...home spells and attack spells in a flight or fight moment. I started reading and researching in the upstairs library of the lab. After a bit the lights started flickering.

* Seriously?

I tried to stop it but it wouldn't..

"Eliza, control your magic!" Grim yelled from downstairs.

* I am!
I tried again, but my GOD this headache was making me lose focus. All the lights suddenly popped and switched off.

* Oops.
Grim came upstairs with a torch.

"Eliza, we need to get your magic checked out. This has to be more than a concussion." He sighed.

I apologised again while casting a spell to replace the lights. We went down the elevator to the True Lab. Grim did a magic scan and printed out the reading.

* See I'm f-

He looked at me, confused.

"Are you fully awake?" He asked me, looking at the results again.

* I- of course I am!

"According to this you're not." He showed the results to me.

Instead of it showing one line, as normal. It showed two very...'wonky' lines. That made no sense, I was definitely awake.

"We can do the same test tomorrow but for now, go home, alright?" He gave me a warm smile. Grim just wanted me to be well, he had a huge heart. I kissed him on the cheek and opened a portal to go home.

* Make sure to come home for dinner.

He nodded while going back to work. I continued reading books in bed as some quiet music played in the background. Zir was chilling on the sofa with his earphones in listening to music and Ellie was outside laying in the snow.

Sofia's View
I was sitting down on the sofa in a thick pink blanket eating ice cream when Star arrived back from work. He put his coat up and came to me, holding a bouquet of flowers.

* Awww, how sweet of you!

^ I hope you like them my love but, we must talk about something.

I sat up, he looked rather worried to say the least.

^ You wanna tell me what's been going on?

Oh.

* Now isn't the beat time, Star..

^ You can tell me anything, you know I'll always love you. 🙂

We caught one another's eyes, I couldn't hide it from him. I took a deep breath.

^ Well...?

I held his hands.

* We're going to have another child.

I closed my eyes, waiting for his reply. What if he didn't want another child? What if he wasn't ready? He put his hand in my cheek...I opened my eyes... he was crying. He hugged me tightly.

^ I love you so much, Sofia.

I smiled while crying into his shoulder. This is why I chose him, he always loved me and got through every challenge with me.

* Nobody knows except you and Eliza, so you can't tell anyone, ok?

He nodded, picking me up in a bridal hug.

^ Baby number two!
He exclaimed, we smiled and quietly celebrated in the living room with a movie and lots of snacks.

In the middle of the movie, Star turned to face me.

^ We should tell your broth-

* No.

^ Oh pleeeeeease.

* No.

Eliza's View:
Time stopped. Oops..I tried to undo it...but it wouldn't work. This 'concussion' was starting the take the mic now. I needed to calm myself as well as my magic down. And at the time I was more focused on keeping the others happy and made a stupid mistake. I opened the drawer and took out medicine. The medicine I didn't stop taking during those 30 years. The medicine that relaxed me completely. I sipped some water and took the tablets. I used my magic to resume time.

* Promise, this'll be the last time something like that will happen.

"Mhm." Grim sighed, getting up to wash dishes.

He turned on some music and we vibed away joyfully. The sun went down gracefully and Grim and I went to the barrier to watch it, hand in hand...heart in heart.

Time was on my side.
