Chapter 25

A moment of silence ensued, both boys just staring at eachother a moment before taehyung held his arms open.

Jungkook immediately understanding and practically jumping to hug the other, he just missed him a lot.

They both did. So something small as a hug was meaningful in the moment, it meant more.

A small bitter sweet smile made its way onto taehyungs expression as they split up, walking over to the edges of the roof and looking out at the night sky.

Both of their minds were just filled with raving thoughts, the quiet air and muffled music being the only sound around until Jungkook spoke up first.

"I kinda thought when I saw you next you'd get upset at me or something."

"What ? Why ?"

"I mean.. that's why you've avoided me right ? You dislike me now ?" He looked away from the stars and back over at taehyung, a sad smile painting his face. "I still haven't figured out what I did wrong.."

This definitely caught taehyung off guard, it was the complete opposite. He liked him too much to be around him.

What sort of excuse could he make without revealing that though ? He has to say something so Jungkook doesn't blame himself for something he didn't do.

...

Maybe.. just confessing would be best ?

Not necessarily just for jungkooks sake, but for his own ? It may be easier to get over if he's not bottling the emotion up and hiding it inside.

After all, the secrecy was killing him. The hiding from the other.

It's now or never right ?

"Jungkook. I have something I to tell you, and I need you to promise me you'll still be my friend after. And also know I don't expect anything to come from it. Ok ?"

He held out his pinky for a promise which the younger quickly agreed to, nodding his head.

"I'd never dislike you for anything just so you know." Jungkook added before letting the other speak.

"You never did anything wrong. I like you, a lot. But you didn't seem to like me so I just decided it'd be best to put space between us."

Taehyung looked down when he spoke, too scared to see the others eyes. He worried there'd be a small look of anger or discomfort, maybe even guilt for not liking him back.

"Are you kidding ?" Jungkook questioned, looking closely at the elder.

"No ? Why would I jok-"

"I like you too." He replied, interrupting the other.

Taehyungs head instantly shot up with a look of confusion, slight panic rushing over him at the idea that his crush might like him back.

"You what ?? But.. but what about san ?"

"What do you mean 'what about San' ?? What would he have to do with this ??"
