Choi Misun
My dear library. Oh how I love you.
I sat in my little window seating for over an hour until Dorothy had to lead me into the big dining room of our palace for lunch.
The dining room had a big dark wood table and tons of chairs beside each other. It was great for extended family visits so we could all sit at one table but since it's only me, father and mother in our small family then it can get too spacious.
I didn't mind it today. I was not pleased with my mother's words so I decided to sit at the opposite side of the table so I wouldn't sit anywhere near her.
One thing that I don't understand is why she has a mindset like this when she is a woman herself. She should know how hard it can get and she should encourage me to stand up for myself and not put me down with her words like she does.
Not even my father had an opinion like she has on this topic. He on the other hand encourages me to be strong and he tells me that I will be a great ruler one day. He never thought about making another child so he could have a male hier. I was simply enough for him as a girl.
"Why are you at the other end, darling? We have enough space here next to us if you want to. Maybe we could talk about sir Clark." my father called out to me. He had to raise his voice so I would be able to hear him from across the table.
"Could we talk about it in your office after lunch?" I asked in mandarin all of a sudden and my mom gave me a glare.
She doesn't know mandarin because she didn't have a tutor that would teach her like they taught me when I was younger so whenever I didn't want my mom to hear or understand something I spoke in mandarin and that was it.
"Of course we can, darling. I understand that sir Clark said something disrespectful and that you don't want other people to hear." my dad agreed to my suggestion and I mentally cheered for that.
The rest of the lunch time was fairly silent as we ate the meal. I wasn't hungry for breakfast when I woke up so it was my first meal of the day finally. My stomach has been making noises for over half an hour so it was cheering inside of me as well for the fuel.
My family ate together while silence surrounded us. It was as clear as a day that I was in a bad mood and so was my mother. Although my mother is in a bad mood because I will still be in the house and don't have a husband on the way yet and I was in a bad mood because of...well...because of a man. And my mother.
After we were all done with eating I accopanied my father to his office for the talk that I wanted to have with him which left my mother having to go and have her fun by herself or with the maids and to be completly honest I did not care about it. I am now in my teen years giving back the attitude that I recieved from her in all these years.
