It was around noon time and the four had already had their fun. So Roderick decided it was about time they went on their way. The four of them and the king stood at the entry way to watch the Austrians departure.
"Thank you for having us your highness." Roderick said kindly towards the king.
"It was your honour." Gilbert laughed.
The king swatted the back of his head then glanced back to Roderick.
"Have a safe journey home you two," the king announced.
"Will do." The prince said and the two walked towards the carriage disappearing into it.
The carriage pulled away and Matthew waved to them with a soft smile.
"So did you behave?" The king asked.
"I totes did!"
The king gave him a disbelieving glare and looked at Matthew who turned around and nodded kindly.
"He was good your highness. Him and Roderick played together in the music room, it was very touching." He defended.
"So you did make use of that flute then, okay, I'll be going then." The king said sternly before leaving the two.
"That wasn't so bad!" Matthew said turning to Gilbert.
"What did you expect tiny guy! I am awesomely social!" He laughed.
Matthew rolled his eyes and laughed "you're awesomely something" he joked walking back up the path.
Gilbert trotted after him. "Hey what's that suppose to mean?" He called.
"Well, we have the rest of the day, would you like to study?"
"God no." The Prince grumbled. "Why not go for a walk, maybe have an afternoon picnic."
"That sounds nice." Matthew agreed.
"Alright, I'll go get out of these stuffy clothes and you go ask for some food, I'll meet you outside in 10." The snowy haired male raced off into the castle.
Matthew watched after him before taking his own leave.
Later...
The two met back outside, Gilbert had changed into a casual white flowy shirt along with black trousers. Matthew had arrived holding up a large wicker basket with a red blanket laid over it. The Prince took the basket and Matthew did not disagree, it was definitely heavier than he thought it would be as well as he knew the Prince would find confidence in being the one to carry it.
"So Mattie how do you like my awesome castle?"
"The castle?" Matthew was surprised. "Shouldn't you be asking if I like you instead."
"Well I already know you like me." Gilbert smirked. "I just wanted to make sure those whenches are taking care of ya."
"Well they don't have to do that, I'm just your tutor." Matthew reassured.
"You're not my tutor." The prussian gently hit Matthews arm. "You're my friend right?"
"Right, but I also think we should study a little, I really can help you out Gil." He sighed.
"No, I already told you I want my father to teach me. Im not going to chase you off like the other tutors, but I don't want you to keep asking me."
Matthew got a little frustrated. "But if I don't tutor you I will have no use and your father will send me away...." He became worried.
Gilbert stopped, he looked down at the golden haired male and bit his lip. He didn't want Matthew to leave, and if he did his father would only keep sending tutors.
"Fine, what if we made a deal?" Gilbert handed.
"A deal?" Matthew raised a brow.
"Yeah, I'll cooperate with you, if you promise you'll stay here in the castle after words, perhaps as my advisor?"
The violet eyed male smiled softly. "I think this could work."
Gilbert let out a relieved sigh. "But can we like still have this picnic?"
Matthew laughed lightly. "Of course."
