Matthew sat in the hall on the floor with his back against the wall. His eyes were red and his cheeks flush from crying. The king marched quickly down the hall and the boy scrambled to his feet.

"Your highness!" He called trying to catch his composure.

"What happened?" the king's serious blues pierced into Matthews.

"I was teaching the prince sword play but I didn't realize he was using a steel sword and my iron claymore broke it." Matthew said eyes welling up again.

The king put a hand on Matthew's shoulder. "Not your fault." He said blankly.

"I'm sorry." Mattie said looking down and sniffling.

The king looked at the door, his eyes that never revealed any emotion shimmered of dread. This made Matthew only worry more and his face became hot as he tried to hold back his tears.

"W-what if I-"

"No Matthew, don't say that, he's fine. He has to be."

"But I-"

A man opened the door and looked up. He shook his head and for a second Matthew's heart dropped. He put his hands over his heart feeling the breath taken from him. He clenched his quick beating heart as tightly as he could and when air escaped him it was an agonizing cry.

The doctor looked down at him eyes wide and knelt down.

"No, no he's fine Matthew, he's fine."

Matthew looked up and he hit the doctors arm as hard as he could without thinking.

"Ow!"

"H-how could y-you do that to meee." He cried.

The king let out a soft laugh and helped Matthew up.

"You can go see him, just don't hit me!" The doctor said.

Matthew looked at the door fretting the prince's condition or his reaction to seeing the one who put him here. He walked over to it slowly then creaked it open. He saw the Prussian prince sitting up, his chest covered in bandages. The king held the door and looked at Matthew.

"I'll leave you two alone." The king said shutting the door.

Gilbert looked at Matthew with a big smile. "MATTIE!" He called.

Mathew walked to his bed side and looked at him shaking with emotion.

"Why you so red? Were you crying?"

Matthew shook his head, his tongue felt like it was being pulled back into his throat and he couldn't say a word.

"I hope this leaves an awesome scar!"

Matthew hit his arm lightly and pouted.

"Hey!" The prince yelped.

He looked at Mattie's eyes that were still wet with tears and smiled.

"Were you that worried about me?"

"I was."

"I'm sorry. "

"You're sorry? I almost killed you!"

"But you cried for me," Gil said looking out the window. "If I had died, I would have been happy knowing someone would cry just for me."

"What do you mean?"

"As awesome as I am, do you think anyone else would have."

"Your dad was worried."

"Really? Now that warms my heart!"

"I'm sorry."

"Don't apologize Mattie, it wasn't your fault!"

"I should have checked what kind of weapon you had."

"Come on, even if it didn't break your psycho ass would have cut me anyways."

Matthew hit him again.

"Hehe, thanks."

"For what?" Matthew asked.

"For crying for me, and for giving me an awesome future scar!"

"That's stupid." Mattie rubbed his swollen eyes.

"No way! Cause if you cry for me that means you finally fell for me!"

"What?!"

"I wiiiin!"

"Gilbert."

"LOVE ME MATTIE!"

"Gil?!"

Gilbert hugged him tight and shook him around.

"Gil you'll open your wounds! Let go!"

"Not until you love me!!!"

Gilbert hugged Mattie tighter and shook him harder.

"Okay okay!" Mattie called.

Gil stopped and grinned widely.

"Well?"

"I-uh..."

"Mhmmmm?"

"I....."

"I'll toss you around again."

"I love you!" Matthew yelled.

The two blushed crimson and Mattie looked at Gilbert with scared eyes.

"Really?" Gil stuttered.

"I-I love you Gil."
