Regulus pov:
"So are you done with your shopping Reggie" James asked looking at regulus who has four bags in each hand and some going up his arm(you know that thing you do when bringing in groceries and you grab as many as you can so you only have to make one trip)
"oh um yeah"regulus replied struggling to hold all his bags "alright then let's head to the three broomsticks" James said taking some of the bags out regulus hand "thanks" "no problem Reggie" James said ruffing regulus hair affectionately
"Hey James" regulus said looking up from the ground "yes reggie" "well I um I wanted to uh tell you something" regulus said and stopped walking "yeah ok what is it reg" "well I uh I'm non-binary and use all pronouns" regulus replied sounding slightly uncomfortable "oh really" James said looking at regulus slightly shocked "uh yeah is that all right" "oh of course it's all right dear" James said giving regulus a comforting smile before pulling him into a tight hug
"Oh and James I have one more thing to tell you" regulus said hiding his face in the crock of James neck "yeah what is it Reggie?" James asked happy that regulus felt comfortable enough to share so much personal information with him "I'm pansexual" regulus answered nervously "wait really so you like guys and stuff" James asked backing up and looking regulus in the eye
'oh Marlin I fucked up'

'but why does he care I like guys he doesn't mind Sirius and Remus'

"REGULUS" James yelled grabbing his shoulder making him snap out of his thoughts "huh" regulus said looking at James with a confused face "jeez reg I've been calling you're name for two minutes" "sorry I get caught up in my head sometimes and just drown people out sorry" regulus apologized removing James hands from his shoulders "oh no need to apologize reggie it's not a big deal" "oh ok sorry" "it's fine didn't I just tell you not to apologize" "yeah right I'm sorry" "stop apologizing you have nothing to be sorry for" "ok I'm sorr-" James cut him off by putting a hand over regulus mouth before saying "if you apologize one more time I am going to kill you" "ok I'm-" regulus cut him self off before he could say another apology "we should head to the tree broomsticks now" regulus said playing with a bee bracelet he always wore on his left hand (it's actually a necklace that he put around his hand twice so it kinda hangs down a little if you know what I mean)
4:35 am Gryffindor common room
James pov:
"Sirius you awake" James asked opening the curtains that surrounded Sirius bed "mhm" Sirius hummed in response reading some muggle book "great I need to talk to you I was gonna talk to lils about it but I thought my brother from another mother would have much better advice" James said laughing a little bit "well of course Messer prongs I'm always here to help" Sirius replied in a fake posh accent but slurring his words a little out of tiredness "well I think I might of meet the one" James flopping down next to Sirius "huh" Sirius asked confused tossing his book to the side "Siri I think I'm in love" James confessed "what! With who?" Sirius exclaimed loudly "shhh Sirius you'll wake moony and wormtail" James shushed Sirius "and why are you in your bed and not moony's?" James questioned "ah yes I totally forgot that I am no longer allowed to sleep in my own bed how silly of me" Sirius said his voice dripping with sarcasm "well I'm sorry if I thought it was a little wired that you're not in his bed where you've slept every night since fourth year" James said kicking Sirius foot "ugh me and moons got into a fight no biggie" Sirius shrugged looking away from James trying to hide the fact that he was holding back tears "aw pads I'm sorry. Are you alright? What happened? Do you need a hug?" James asked not waiting for Sirius to answer before pulling him into a tight hug "well me and Remus just had a little fight because he was talking to that Milo guy he used to date and it looked like they were flirting and I got jealous and yelled Milo and remy got mad and he was screaming at me and then he told me he was sick of me and my jealousy and he hasn't said a word to me since" Sirius explained crying a little "oh Sirius I'm so sorry I'm sure he didn't mean it he probably just said it because he was annoyed with you and it's close to the full moon you now how he gets" James said pulling away from the hug but keeping his arm around Sirius "yeah but it still hurts and he usually doesn't snap at me like that" Sirius said pulling his knees close to his chest "ok but you know can't control anger this close to the full moon" James replied rubbing Sirius back "yeah and I get that but I know he can control his anger a little bit and it's not like the full moon is in like two days it's a week away it usually doesn't effect his emotions that much when the moon is just a week away" Sirius sobbed looking up at James before wiping his tears and saying "but enough about me and moony who are you in love with" Sirius asked grinning at James "well I don't really want to tell anyone right now but when I'm ready you'll be the first one to know" James said before laying down and closing his eyes "so are we having a sleepover" Sirius asked looking at James confusedly "well of course we are I can't let you be sad and alone" James replied
