The energy on the bus had instantly changed, just a few minutes prior they were excited for Awsten's future and all on board with scraping the album and now everyone was so worried they could barely even see straight.
"Okay I'm going to need you to explain exactly what fucking happened." Jawn says sternly, as he periodically glances back towards Awsten who was calling Claire repeatedly with no answer whatsoever.
"Claire called us all into the living room to tell us about how she was moving out with Awsten, and Collin lost it. I've never seen him get that worked up before, much less ever yell at her. They don't fight, I don't know what set him off so bad." Chris says nervously, bracing himself in case Awsten got mad over this.
"And none of you told him to stop?" Jawn asks in disbelief, shaking his head disapprovingly.
"She's not answering her phone, it was just ringing before and now it's just going to voicemail why isn't she answering her fucking phone." Awsten says partly to himself.
Geoff goes over to Awsten sitting next to him on the couch, "Give me her phone number I'll try to call her too." he says softly, trying to get his friend to calm down.
Chris shakes his head, "I told him to stop."
Jawn sighs, rubbing his temples before looking back up at Chris. "What do you mean you think that Collin kicked her off of the tour? She's been with you guys since the very beginning, you said yourselves a few weeks ago you wouldn't survive without her."
"When Awsten and Claire were in Houston, Equal Vision called us. They said they found a photographer that they would pay for themselves so that we didn't have to pay Claire out of our pockets anymore." Chris says so quietly, everyone thinks that they mishear at him at first.
Awsten's head snaps up at the sound of this, and Chris can instantly tell that he's angry.
"And y'all fucking agreed? You got rid of her that easy as if she's not the only fucking reason you guys have been able to do anything the last few years? As if she's not quite literally your biggest supporter?" Awsten yells, blocked behind Geoff's arm as he goes to stand up.
He wasn't a violent person, and being upset right now wouldn't change that. Awsten knew that Geoff was doing it just to be on the safe side but it made him even more angry in that moment.
"Geoff move your fucking arm, I'm not going to hit him I just can't sit here and have this therapy session while Claire is missing and it doesn't seem like anyone is in a hurry to figure out where the fuck she is." he spits in Geoff's reaction who just nods slowly moving his arm.
"The rest of the guys are out walking around looking for her, and we didn't get rid of her. EVR didn't even give us the option of giving them an answer right then and there and we were going to tell them no because we don't want anyone else. I don't know why Collin even told her that knowing that it was going to upset her." Chris replies defiantly and Awsten scoffs.
"You just said it yourself, he said it because he knew it would hurt her. Find out where they are and where they've looked, because if Collin is the one to find her she's going to lose it." Awsten counters.
Chris's eyes widen, nodding. He hadn't even thought of the fact that they were probably the last people that Claire would want to see at this exact moment of time.
"All of this was because of the fact that we were going to move in together?" Awsten asks Chris quietly.
He knew it wasn't about him in this moment in time, but he couldn't help but think that maybe he caused this in some sort of twisted way. The last thing that he wanted was for Claire to lose friends that she had for years because of him, she meant to much to him for that.
"Her wallet is still on the bus, she couldn't of gone far but Collin, Tyler, and Derek have had no luck and they said they've looked pretty much everywhere they possibly could." Chris says tight lipped.
Awsten thinks for a minute, before snapping his head up to look at everyone around him.
"This venue, it's like a weird soccer field right?" he asks for clarification, everyone shrugs their shoulders not knowing the answer until Lucas speaks up.
"The stages are being set up in the parking lot, but there is a soccer field behind it yeah. Why?" Lucas asks curiously.
"Are there bleachers?" he asks, not giving anyone anymore insight into his train of thought right now.
Lucas narrows his eyebrows nodding. "We drove by them earlier, they're at the very end of the parking lot. Why what are you thinking Awsten?" he asks again.
Awsten shakes his head, throwing a sweatshirt over his head and grabbing an extra one for Claire. There were many nights they had spent in high school, sneaking out onto the field after hopping the fence to lay on the bleachers and look up at the stars. This was the only idea he had and he hoped that he was right about where she could be.
"Tell the boys to go back to the bus, I think I know where she is." Awsten says to Chris.
Chris didn't question him in that moment in time, he didn't care about the details behind his thought process. He just wanted Claire to be okay, he honestly didn't even care about how Collin was feeling considering he was the one who caused all of this.
"I think I know where you're going with this, let us walk with you and if you find her we'll head back here so you're not walking alone." Otto tells Awsten, and Jawn nods in agreement.
Awsten didn't want anyone to be with him at this moment in time, but with how terrible his sense of direction was he knew that it would probably be really easy for him to get lost in this venue, especially with how dark it was outside.
"Okay fine." Awsten agrees, walking out of the bus gripping his sweatshirt tightly, hoping that she was exactly where she thought she was going to be.
