"Hey Mack, you will not believe why I was called to the front office today," Alliyah often calls me Mack, whereas everyone else calls me Kenzie. I drew the line when people thought Mackie was cute. "Tiffany's mom was here and gave me these to hand out today. Tiff is getting a surprise birthday party this weekend!" she whisper-shouted at me in Algebra, the only class we have together. "Here's yours, don't open it now. I need to find a way to give these to people without Tiff finding out. Apparently I'm supposed to give them to our friends," Alliyah says as she handed me the envelop.

"Wait Ally, why didn't Tiff's mom give that responsibility to Valerie, she knows they are best friends. Valerie is going to feel a way when she finds out," I ask Alliyah as I stuff the envelop in my bag.

Alliyah and I have have attracted unintentional enemies when it came to Tiffany's best friend, Valerie because Tiff spends a lot of time with us and hardly spends any with her. To make matters worse, Valerie had told Tiff to tells us to back off a little but Alliyah and I don't think it's our responsibility. Tiff needs to be the one who makes an effort to hang out with her best friend.

Valerie isn't the only one. Daphne's best friend, Monica also has the same probelm. But Monica has taken it to a whole different level, she has made it very clear that we are not welcome to any event or hung out where the best friends would be together. This made birthdays and after school hung outs particularly difficult because it means we need to plan something around her. So if Monica was going to be somewhere with Daphne, me and Alliyah had to avoid that area. But if we get to a place first, Alliyah and I don't leave.

Typically, me and Alliyah would have dealt with this when it first started but if we were to do something, it could back fire and compromise the relationship we have with Tiffany and Daphne. And even with that said, Monica and Valerie haven't come up to us and say something to our faces, so until then, it will be business as usual.

"I don't know but that's something Valerie is going to have to take up with Tiffany and her mom. Also, Monica and Tiff are friends, I have to give her the invite and she'll come. But I'm not going to not go to Tiff's party because of her. Are we on the same page," Alliyah said to me in a whisper to avoid getting caught by the teacher or anyone else hearing our conversation.

"I mean yeah, we are going. This has nothing to do with Daphne, so I don't see a probelm," I reassured Alliyah. "Its Monday morning, is all this drama necessary already?" I ask Alliyah, sighing.

"Girl, this week is just going to be chaotic. I can already tell," Alliyah laughs and turns her head back to her work.

Wayne is looking at me from the other side of class. He has this look on his face and it's doing things to me. He winks at me and I can't help but smile back, we both turn our heads and try to concentrate on the Spanish class.

At the end of Ms Bingham's class, I prepare myself to leave the room. Very slow, on purpose. Because I'm hoping Wayne will come say something to me. "I am surprised to see you," he says in a calm voice standing behind me.
