Wanye pulls up to Ivan's house to find him already standing in the driveway, with pyjama pants, slippers and a jacket on.

"Why do you look like it's 2 a.m., its only 09h10?" Wayne says after looking at his friend's outfit.

Ivan gets into the front, "you sent me a message saying 'sos we've been summoned'. I was studying. I don't get why we are outside at this time," he looks at the dash to see the time.

Wanye laughs a little, "how do we get to Mackenzie's house from here?" Wayne asks, figuring that Ivan should know where she lives. He had forgotten the route, since the night of Tiffany's party.

"Lemme drive and you can explain to me why we're going to her place at this time of the night? Her mamma know we coming?" He stops to look at Wayne after opening the door, before stepping out.

Wayne opens his door and ignores him as he goes around to the passenger side of the car. He complains a little when he sees that Ivan jumped from his side to the drivers seat without getting out and going around, over the centre console.

"Okay, I'm listening," Ivan says and starts the car, moving in the direction to Mackenzie's house.

Wayne thinks for a little. After spending as much time as he had with her, he knows that he will not always know what she is thinking. So he gives Ivan what he thinks could be accurate. "She's not happy about the whole silence thing. But man, I don't want to start shit up. All this drama is just not what I want. She doesn't get that. Also need to address how she called me a wimp. And the Noah outing don't sit well with me"

Ivan chooses to ignore the Noah comment. Noah is the kind of guy that doesn't just open up, he has his people and Mackenzie is one of them. For as long as he has known them, this is how their friendship has been. What makes him think that there might not be anything there is that Noah is a kind of a player and Mackenzie is well aware of that. "Did you ask her how she felt about it?" Ivan asks his friend.

Wayne tries to remember the conversation they had at the park, "nahh, she kinda agreed to it," he realises that her 'it's for the best' comment did not match the expression on her face. Was it a convenient answer?

Ivan laughs at his friend, "kinda? And no follow up after that?"

Wayne shrugs ,"This is the follow up," he says like it's the simplest thing. Knowing that Ivan is right, they should have discussed this more and maybe they would not be driving to her house right now.

Ivan pulls up into Mackenzie's driveway and parks, "you are going to need to figure this out now because we're here," he got out the car and into the back seat.

Wayne pulled out his phone to text Mackenzie, that they were outside.

We're here

Mackenzie sees the text and runs down the stairs to her mom's office. "Mom, my friends are here to talk about something quickly. We'll be in the driveway," she is a little anxious and for a lot of reasons.

Her mother looks up from her laptop, "who is it and why are they not coming inside?" She looks at her daughter, confused. It was common for her friends to come over but never like this.

Mackenzie shakes her head. She is not ready for her mother to meet Wayne. Because one, they were not in the best place and two, she didn't want to bring this kind of conversation into the house where her mom could hear. The less she knows the better. "It's Ivan and the new boy from school. We won't take long."
