Lennon's birthday party was Peter's first big step into getting her back.
Granted, it was just a party and she would probably be otherwise preoccupied being the host of said party but now that she actually confided in him enough to let him into her world like this, it meant a lot.
He was also still hopeful that she'd somehow remember that the shirt he chose to wear was her favorite. He still remembered that she always told him he looked so handsome- no matter how many times he told her to stop it.
"I can't help it that I have the most handsome boyfriend in the world," Lennon cooed as she kissed his cheek multiple times.
Peter was a blushing mess when Tony walked into the room with Pepper.
"Jesus, Lenn. Leave the kid alone."
"He's as a red as a tomato- Tony, they are too cute."
"I think we're cuter," Tony wrapped his arms around Pepper to pull her close to him.
"As if, old man. No one can beat us," Lennon smiled, finally letting Peter breath as he smiled at the older couple.
All Peter thought of nowadays were memories of him and Lennon.
He couldn't escape them. He could've been doing something as simple as eating and he was immediately thinking of Lennon and a random memory he hadn't thought of in years.
He just hoped he didn't space out like that at the party- especially in front of Lennon. He had to be on his best non-creepy behavior and made sure she wanted to hangout with him again and not just pity invite him somewhere.
"Your name?"
"Peter Parker," he nervously told the security guard whose typed on the iPad before nodding and letting him in.
He didn't know why he was so nervous. Lennon would never be cruel like that and just leave him out after he'd been invited.
"Okay. Okay Peter. You have to find Lennon, give her your present and make sure you spend the whole night together. You can do this. You can- no."
He stopped short when he spotted Lennon with none other than Brad Davis who had his arm draped around her shoulder as he leaned against her.
Maybe he wouldn't have thought much on it, had Brad not placed a kiss on the top of Lennon's head.
Feeling discouraged, he went to the bar, where they were serving non-alcoholic drinks, courtesy of Pepper who immediately vetoed Lennon's plea to let them live a little, even though the thing he wanted the most was alcohol to forget what he'd just saw.
Maybe Thor would remember him and give him some of that Asgaurdian stuff.
