Cassy was amazed by everything, the tree disguised elevator, the vault and even the forestry it's self. As soon as she saw Cameron she ran over and hugged him, I don't know how she was so comfortable, the little bitch was annoying Elexis, I could tell just by the cold expression glued on her face.
They talked for almost an hour, once we finally got going it was dark and the air was chilled. I dropped Cassy off at the nearest bus stop, that was 15 minutes drive I think, once she boarded a bus I took Lexi home.
Besides the few mumbles about Cassy, so far the drive to Elexis's house has been silent. It wasn't the awkward silence that Elexis hates, it was the 'tired not in the mood' type of silence. She kept her eyes locked outside the whole time, I knew she was thinking about Cassy, how she was so chilled and laid back, the way she looked at me. I knew somewhere deep down in her delicate heart, she was jealous. Fair enough I thought. I am pretty special.
Her soft voice filled the silent air, "Dylan what do you think she wants?"
"She's just another one of us, nothing too special, soon you will be ever powerful, more powerful than me actually."
It scared me. The fact that she is a born wolf. Not only was she meant to one of us, it is her destiny, her life. It started do drizzle.
"Did you want to catch up tomorrow? Go out for lunch?"
Her brown eyes met mine for the first time since the meeting with Cameron, she looked tired, I wondered if she had cried."I think I might stay home tomorrow, have some time with mum, I'm going to to tell her that I'm spending my 16th with you at a hotel in town, is that ok? I know I haven't mentioned that idea but yeah, well what do you think?"
I thought about it for awhile, I like the thought of staying alone with her but not in a hotel, just because I don't know how she's going go with all the powers and senses filling her body at once.
"What about camping?" No reply.
"Hmm ok I know! Camping in the clearing!"
She jumped in her seat, "YES! That would be so cool! For the whole weekend! Maybe mum will let me have a couple more days off, since it is my birthday!" She started yelling, out of excitement at the thought of all these things we could do, "swimming, rock climbing, setting up the tent, and evening adding to the clearing!" She exclaimed.
"More exploring!" I added to her excitement, and to my surprise happiness was contagious and she seemed to get me infected every time, without fault too.
"YES DYL! This is perfect! We shall be prepared for anything that comes our way. We could be ninjas!"
I laughed, it was good to have the old Elexis back. It hurt me seeing her so quite and hidden.
