The leaves swirled and created a tiny tornado around me, I wondered what was happening. Everything was so over whelming I questioned how I was still standing. I knew I was near, but I couldn't expose myself, after all it was me they wanted. But then if they took Dylan... It would be all my fault! MY FAULT. I wouldn't forgive myself if anything happened to him. I-I loved him. Huh? Wait what, Elexis stop that, I lectured myself almost tempted to slap the stereotypical movie scene out of my head.
A tear rolled down my rosy cheek. I hated being left in the dark like this, I needed to know what they were talking about and who 'they' are. My heart throbbed uncontrollably, my legs shook, I let out a breathe I didn't know I was holding and took a few steps forward.
Although night was close to enclosing the clearing in nothing but the dark, the small dull light left from the sun lightened near my feet. Like wind, the light drifted and moved as if directing me. With out hesitation I decided to walk to my right and look there instead of walking straight out.
I stepped out of safety and into the unknown.
I took refuge behind another thick tree and planted my back to the trunk as I poked my head around and squinted into the clearing centre. My heart raced as I saw his silhouetted figure. Dylan. There he stood in the middle of an awkward square circle. And yes, those types of circles exist. I realised everything seemed bigger and a sudden shock ran through my body, another power unleashed from inside of me! The clearing continued to magnify until Dylan's face grew clear. I examined the four towering over him. They seemed a lot bigger, not because I am using my powers but because they were! They grew in front of my eyes, especially the one looking down on Dylan, his back was arched as spikes of hair followed down his spine. I shivered.
His abnormally large feet stayed still although his body twisted in my direction...
WAIT WHAT?! OH CRAP.I swung my head around pressing my back harder against the tree hoping I would sink into it. My heart raced.
I th- I think he saw me!!But I didn't know for sure..
Further panic awakened inside of me. I didn't now what to do, tears heated my cheeks as they rolled off my chin. As much as I tried, I could not control my breathing. Heavy breaths escaped, I groaned unknowingly...
My chest no longer felt heavy, my heart slowed, I felt stronger than ever, I felt powerful. Just like that, I was no longer scared. I felt invincible.
I let my overwhelmed head fall backwards onto the tree. I looked to my side and realised light must have seeped through the jungle above, it was a whole lot lighter although it seemed to be... A red shade?
Again, I was chucked into the deep end of the pool of questions, like: what just happened to me?
I looked down at me hands... rough?
I looked at my legs... Muscular?
I lifted my loose top... Freaking abs?**
