Dylans voice popped into my mind, bouncing off the walls of my skull his words read: Elexis! Camping stuff right outside.
Yeah? So what? I will put away later, not r-. Ohhhhh!
I looked at him next to me, trying hard to control my face muscles, fighting for control over my nerves I replied again: say you need to go, move everything to the back, you know near the shed and text me when your home. Go!
I started to bite my nails swallowing back the words creeping into my head. If mum saw that I would be on a hot seat, and boy that'd be the death of me. If she ever found out where I had been and what had happened... No joke. Literally buckled down, questioned, flashlight in face all until my mouth turned dry or she got the answers out of me. The truth.
Dylan pushed his chair back creating an ear piercing screech, of course only to myself because I wasn't focusing. I noticed him almost dancing on his feet obviously nerves getting the better of him. "Well Mrs Riddle it was a good chat but I best be off, thanks so much for letting me take your daughter, it was deffinately a trip of a life time." He helped me up and kissed my cheek goodbye and waved at my mother who remained sitting before walking out the door and shutting it slowly. I shot a look at him before he disappeared, I swear a red shade engulfed his soft eyes. Well glad that's over. I turned around only catching mothers gaze. Hmmm... I don't know who to feel about this, her facial expressions stayed neutral, however something was on her mind.
"Take a seat sweetheart, tell me more about you're hotel experience." She lightly smiled and beckoned across the table towards the seat I once sat in.
I cleared my throat as I hesitantly took a seat, "it was amazing mum, like no other I have never been to before, you know big buildings, lights everywhere and new friends!" At least that part was right, I did make a kind of friendship with Cassy-Kay. I continued to try sound amazed. "Oh! But the best part was definitely seeing Dylan trip over, it was hilarious!" I laughed before everting my gaze from her cold eyes. She never replied, never smiled, never looked away. She stared, it felt as though she was trying to read me, figure what I was thinking. I started to fidget as paranoia kicked into over drive. She's trying to read my thoughts! I jerked backwards attempting to block any doorways to my thoughts. "Mum?!" I interrupted her day dream, "Tahiese!?" Her eyes widened and fought my own, she looked hurt. Oops
"Excuse missy, it's mum to you!" She got up in one movement and started on dinner. God, what a mood swing. I ran upstairs to my room and face planted on to my bed. The warmth relaxed me and at once I felt safe, I was glad I was in the safety of home again. Sweet home. I buried my face into my lonely pillow and closed my heavy eyes, its definitely been a memorable few days.
I sat up, saliva dripping down the side of my lips, gross. I tried to wipe my groggy face and slowly looked around still positioned on my belly. Mattered clumps of brown hair blocked most of my view, although I knew it was dark. Mum must have drawn my curtains, the silence crept up on me as I tucked my feet into my awaiting slippers next to my bed. I stretched, examining the room I have missed. I knew I had slept for awhile, yet fatigue drowned my body. I reached for my phone, instead of grasping the familiar cold metal I fell forwards, face first into the corner of the table.
"Mum!" I yelled, clutching the side of my head. A thick liquid dripped down my hand, blood. I called out for mothers assistance as I lay paralysed on my bedroom floor. A few painful minutes passed and still no response. I tried to turn using my bed as an anchor to help me up, nothing, I was numb. I sensed someone's presence but couldn't look around, fear pooled inside of me as the familiar sound of coat hangers slid against the cold metal of my wardrobe. Heavy footsteps approached from the other side of the bed, in desperate need of a plan I tried to roll under my bed, no use. My heart kick into over-drive as sweat trickled down my bloody face.
"Well, well, well, look who it is, my favourite little pup." I pursed my lips as the silhouette figure became clear. The voice that sounded like death belonged to Zeus.
"Yeah well, this is my house," I sarcastically spat back, "what have you don't to me you pig?!" He admired his grubby knuckles and brushed them against his shoulder in act of ignorance and intimidation.
"I have drugged you with a paralysing serum, good to know I works guinea pig, however," he talked formally taking advantage of his higher status, "it won't do much, no need to worry..." I give him a fowl look, hoping to cover up the fact that I was shitting bricks. He paced back and forth in front of me imprinting paw marks on my carpeted floor. "And you thought you were safe back at home. Well think again little girl!"
"You don't know me!" I scowled.
"Oh but I do!" He smiled, infuriating me further, "And tell me Elexis 'what do we do to the world that kills us, yet everybody does it?"
