Chapter-29

Naina's POV:

I was shocked to see Ana here. She is a witch and top of that she is the beloved of the vampire king meaning she is the queen of vampires. I broke my stare on her when Vincent interrupted "Everyone this is Anabelle, my beloved and also a powerful witch. She came here to shed some light on the matter of disappearances. It looks like my queen and your mate know each other" Vincent said looking at Xandy. Ana was about to say something but I told "Not anymore, I don't know anything about her" I said spitefully. I was deeply hurt. My bestie, the person I trusted the most lied to me all this time. She knew everything about my past, every obstacle in my life, I shared my happiness with her and all I knew about her were only lies. It feels like she is a complete stranger to me now. I don't even know who this person is anymore. "Naina, I" she started but I interrupted. "save it. For now, the only important thing to me is solving this mystery. What ever you have to say I don't want to hear anything." I could tell she was hurt by my words but she was the one who hurt me the most. Vincent took her into his arms and started to smooth her hair. Xandy was doing the same to me. I guess the mate bond demands comforting when your mates when they are hurt.

Soon Ana recovered, took a deep breath and started "Ok, this all started when I completed my Post graduation. I am a witch but I don't live in a colony. My family got separated when I was little. That is why I chose to study among the humans. In the mean while I practiced my magic when I went home for holidays. That day I was roaming around the woods to collect some ingredients for a potion. Suddenly I heard a small yelp. By the sound of it, it was a small girl. I ran towards the sound only to find rogues kidnapping the girl. I stepped in to save the girl. But I was no match for the rogues. They outnumbered me, they used iron to weaken my magic, they beat me till the brink of death and left me there to die. That is when my Vincent found me. He brought me to the castle and healed me. I learnt that I was his beloved and accepted him. I heard that you were trying to search all the creatures who went missing, not only your wolves so I thought that I should give you this information." By the time she finished, I was in tears. I almost lost my bestie to the rogues. I got up from Xandy's lap and pulled her into a hug. We both cried for each other. She kept apologizing for keeping secrets and I forgave her. I couldn't hold grudges against my bestie, especially now when I know she returned from almost death. 

After we recovered, we sat on the couch opposite to our mates who were smiling happily. Sophie suddenly said "At least now we know that the mutts are working against us."  Ana cleared her throat and said "Actually, the rogues included not only wolves but also there were a vampire and a dragon with them." This piece of info was shocking and unsettling at the same time. "But, rogues never work in groups, that alone not with other species. This is dangerous. I guess there is someone who are controlling all these rogues. We have to find them fast or it may lead to grave danger" Andrew wondered to which we all agreed. "But why would the rogues work for hunters?" I asked out loud to which Vincent and Ana looked at me with confusion. I sighed and told them about my experience in the camp. We all stayed silent to absorb all the information which has been revealed. 

"Whatever it is we have to solve it quickly before they start the kidnappings again. According to my theory, we have only three weeks left to trace them. Once they start the kidnappings, it is highly impossible to catch them" I said gleefully. I have an idea but I don't know if Xandy would allow it. But its worth a shot. As a Luna, I must do everything to protect the pack. With this in my mind, I started slowly "Guys, I have a plan to track them." Everyone was looking at me with interest while Ana was eyeing me skeptically. Of course she would know what I was think. we  are best friends for a reason. Before I could open my mouth Ana started "No way Naina, it is way too dangerous. I will not allow you to do such reckless things." "But it is the only way. There are no other  leads for us follow, are they?" I argued. "Unfortunately no, but it is highly risky. It is suicidal. As your bestie, I will not tolerate you doing this!" she started shouting. "What are you both talking about?" Sophie asked. Before I could answer, Ana beat it to me. "She wants to meet the professor to see if she can get any clues." There was in drop silence for a second before chaos erupted. Objections were thrown at me and arguments started. Sophie, Char and Vincent thought this is a good plan while my mate, John,  Ana and Andrew were against it. All the yelling was giving me a headache. I shouted "Shut up" and immediately all the chaos stopped. "I am doing this and there is nothing to discuss further. I will do this with or without your support. I can't just sit and sulk around while people are getting hurt. I am doing this. Either help me or just get out of my way", I bellowed. Except for Xandy, everyone nodded. I sighed and took his face into my hands. "Xandy, I am doing this for every supernatural out there, for our pack, for you, for us. I didn't stop you when you fought for the pack. So please let me fulfil my duty as a Luna to this pack" I requested him looking into his eyes. He sighed and reluctantly nodded. "Fine I will let you do this, but I have a condition."
