Chapter-19

Xander's POV: 

We kissed. Oh my god! Our first kiss was perfect. I am glad that I saved myself for my mate. My parents always taught me the importance of mates in our life. They said that mates are valuable treasures and I couldn't agree less. I was gifted with Naina by the goddess as my mate and I will make sure I will forever cherish her. She's just perfect. Just thinking about her brings a smile to my face. After our kiss, she went to shower and here I was laying on the bed thinking about her. She entered the room wearing sweat pants and white night shirt. She smiled at me and crawled on the bed. I snaked my arms around her and pulled her to me. Her back was to my front. I kissed her forehead and said goodnight. To which she just nodded shyly and closed her eyes. Eventually I too fell asleep listening to her steady breathing. Waking up to your mate is a heavenly feeling. The nights I spent with her are the best sleeping nights of my life. I couldn't understand how I had been spending all my life without her before she came to me. We both got ready and went down for breakfast. I was thinking about telling my mate about the marking and mating. I know she wouldn't be ready but I have to tell her because the full moon is in three weeks when she will go into heat. A heat is the time where the female suffers from extreme heat and pain, it can only be prevented if she mates with her mate. From what I heard the heat is very painful and tiresome process. It doesn't help that the female gets extremely horny and releases sweet intoxicating smell which can attract all the unmated males if not mated with her mate. I don't want my beautiful mate to experience such pain, I couldn't even bare the thought of her being in pain. 

I decided I will talk to her in the afternoon and went to my office to do some paperwork and also to inquire about the missing candidates information. The theory of my smart luna has been very useful. I plan to discuss all this information with the council and also all the other packs and covens. But first I have to prepare a presentation to help them understand clearly. I called John to my office, we both finished the paperwork first and then sat on the presentation. Andrew joined us after sometime and by noon, the presentation was ready. I sent the presentation to my dad and requested a meeting with the council. He replied saying he will arrange the meeting tomorrow. After cleaning the mess we made, I went down to find my mate. I mind linked Char and they told me they were at the pack orphanage and my mate was helping with the children. By the time I reached there, my mate was sitting with all the children reading them a story. She had a cute little girl on her lap who was fast asleep. When she completed the story and promised to be back tomorrow, all the children left. She gently picked up the girl from her lap standing up and gave it to the caretaker. Seeing her with the children, I couldn't help but imagine about our own pups. I am sure that she would be an excellent mother. As soon as saw me, she came running to me. I gently kissed her. "I can't wait to see you carry our pups, I am very sure you would be a perfect mom "I told her. She blushed and hid her face in my chest. I picked her up and carried her bridal style into the house. 

We ate our lunch together. After lunch, I took her to our room to tell her about the mating. We sat on the bed, I was nervous. I didn't know how to tell her. "What's the matter Xandy?" she asked squeezing my hand. "We have to talk about something very important. But I don't want you to feel pressurized by anything" I said avoiding looking into her eyes. She gently cupped my face and kissed me lightly. "You know, you can tell me anything, right?", she asked me slowly. I took a deep breath and started. "There are three steps in mating. First is to recognise our mates by scent which we have already completed. Second is marking, where Mates will bite each other necks as to show that they belong to each other. In case of human mates, only the wolf mate will bite the other's neck. The third step is completing the mating process", I told her carefully. She stared at me waiting for me to continue, So I started again "Normally, after meeting your mate, the female goes into heat in the first full moon if the mating is not completed. Where she will experience a lot of pain and heat. Only by mating, the pain can be reduced. This happens because the goddess ensures the mating of the mates. The next full moon is in three weeks. If we don't mate till then, you will go into heat and trust me, it will be very painful. I understand if you are not ready for this, I will stay with you but not do anything inappropriate. Because a mate's touch can help soothe the pain. The heat will last all the night. I'll talk to the pack doctor and if there is no another way, we will have to sedate you, so that you will not feel any pain."

She was silently listening to me the whole time. She took a shaky breath, "can I think about this. This is all sudden to me?" she asked. I nodded gently and took her into my arms. She snuggled closer to me and we both fell asleep. I woke up to stirring and saw that it was dark outside. My mate was lying there happily with her eyes closed. I can't even imagine what she was going through. This all must be too much for her. First, to know about the supernatural world, then the whole mates thing, becoming the luna of my pack, the pressure of the kidnappings and then the whole mating process. It must be overwhelming for her. I just pray to to the goddess she will not leave me thinking this was all too much. I can't even imagine how I would live if she left me. I gently kissed her forehead and head downstairs to prepare dinner for both of us.
