Chapter-24

Sophie's POV:

When I entered the office, I didn't acknowledge anything. I am very angry right now. They have insulted our pack luna by accusing her of such a crime. It is preposterous. I heard Xander saying he was stupid. I entered the office and started shouting. "Damn right, you are stupid, you idiot. How dare you? how dare any of you to accuse my best friend of such a crime. Are you that stupid to think that she would be behind all these kidnappings. That poor soul didn't even know about this world till last week. Yet, she kept an open mind, she accepted us, she accepted the mate bond, she was helping to find the kidnappers and you stupid idiot! you doubted that she is involved in all these, that too right after you both mated and marked each other. You ungrateful brat! you should be happy she didn't reject you right away instead she accepted you with open arms only to be tossed away like this".  I was about to say  something else, when suddenly John covered my mouth with his hand. I ripped his hand away and slapped him hard across the face. They all were shocked by this. But my wolf was raging. "And you two idiots! you two should have stopped her, apologized right away, hell you shouldn't have got the doubt firstly, but no! you idiots just let him hurt your luna, the girl whom you guys considered as family, the girl who treated you like brothers, you incompetent fools. All of you be happy now, because she's gone now. And no one knows when she will come back, IF she returns at all!"

Hearing this, Xander's head jerked up, "what do you mean by she is gone? Where did she go? When did she leave? And how did you allow her to leave?" he started shouting at me. Seeing his anger, John stepped in front of me for protection. I shoved him away and looked straight into Xander's eyes. "She left because she was upset, she went to see her family, she said she wanted sometime to clear her head, to think about all this and she didn't say when she will return and I hope she takes her time because I want you to suffer you asshole! I want you to go through the pain you put her through" I bellowed and rushed out of the room not even caring what he is saying. I can't control myself any longer, my wolf is going crazy. If I stayed any longer I might shift and tear them to pieces. I shifted into my wolf and started running into the woods. 

John's POV:

I was shocked to see Xander crying. He never cries. This is the first time I have seen him crying. Trust me, it is a heart breaking sight. I couldn't even imagine the pain he is going through. Truth to be told, we are at fault too. If we had stopped her from leaving, this would have not happened. I still remember the look on her face when she left. She was broken by our accusation. And why not? we basically held her responsible for these kidnappings. I could never forgive myself for even thinking like that. I was about to console him when suddenly Sophie rushed in. And boy, she was angry! What is she doing here? She must be in the hospital for the appointment. I was about to ask her when she started bellowing at us. "Damn right, you are stupid, you idiot. How dare you? how dare any of you to accuse my best friend of such a crime. Are you that stupid to think that she would be behind all these kidnappings. That poor soul didn't even know about this world till last week. Yet, she kept an open mind, she accepted us, she accepted the mate bond, she was helping to find the kidnappers and you stupid idiot! you doubted that she is involved in all these, that too right after you both mated and marked each other. She was about to say something else when I covered her mouth with my hand. She should not take this stress, it is not good for her or the baby. I didn't even know how she knew about Naina getting upset. I was about to console her, when she ripped my hand away and slapped me hard. I was so shocked by this. My sweet Sophie just slapped me. This shows that she is furious. That is when I noticed that her eyes are almost black meaning her wolf is in control. Goddess this is bad! She directed her fury to me and Andrew. "And you two idiots! you two should have stopped her, apologized right away, hell you shouldn't have got the doubt firstly, but no! you idiots just let him hurt your luna, the girl whom you guys considered as family, the girl who treated you like brothers, you incompetent fools. All of you be happy now, because she's gone now. And no one knows when she will come back, IF she returns at all!" I bowed her head in shame. She is right. Naina treated us like brothers. She was like a sister to us. We broke her trust which family doesn't do normally. But I was shocked to hear that she left the pack. I can't even think how much we hurt her by our actions. 

Xander jerked up his head when she told Naina left the pack. I was afraid that he would do something to Sophie in his anger. So I stepped forward to protect her when he started shouting "what do you mean by she is gone? Where did she go? When did she leave? And how did you allow her to leave?" But Sophie didn't back away, instead she just pushed me out of her way and remained eye to eye with Xander. Of course, I sometimes forget that she has beta and warrior blood in her, so she will not submit to anyone. She replied with rage "She left because she was upset, she went to see her family, she said she wanted sometime to clear her head, to think about all this and she didn't say when she will return and I hope she takes her time because I want you to suffer you asshole! I want you to go through the pain you put her through". And she ran out of the office not able to contain her wolf any longer. I called her name but she didn't respond. I turned to Andrew and he nodded. I took that as a signal that he would handle Xandy so I shifted and went after my mate. She ran for three hours and I was following her the whole time. Soon after she reached home, she collapsed onto her knees for exhaustion and she was sobbing uncontrollably. I approached her still in my wolf form whining when I saw her tears. She glared at me and said "Don't come near me, until you fix this problem I am not talking to you. I expected better from you. You disappointed me, John". She then went upstairs to our room and slammed the door. I was distraught. I had upset my two loved ones today. Firstly, my luna whom I consider as a sister and second, the love of my life, my mate. I decided then and there that that I should fix this as soon as possible. With that in mind, I went to Xandy's office.
