Chapter-31

Naina's POV:

Today was the day I will be going to my professor to fish out some clues. I dressed in a blue turtle neck shirt and faded jeans along with my favorite jacket. I wore my sneakers for comfort. Xandy already got ready and went to the office for last minute preparations. To say I was nervous was an understatement. I am terrified. But I have to do this. All those lives, all those families. I have to do this for them. It is my responsibility as a luna moreover as a human being. Experimenting on someone no matter their species without ones consent is illegal. And it is barbaric. I have to help in capturing these monsters. I checked myself once  again and went to the office. Ana has to perform the spells on me so, I was escorted to the back yard by my friends and mate. 

She made me stand in the center of field and instructed everyone to move away from me. Ana closed her eyes and began chanting in a different language which I couldn't understand. Nothing happened at first but after a few seconds, I could feel the power surging around me, cackling and finally it wrapped itself around me as a caterpillar in a cocoon. I couldn't see or touch it but I could definitely feel the energy. It gave me a magical warmth and comfort. As I looked at Ana, her eyes just returned to normal color from purple. Some of our warriors along with the chief warrior are staying here for the protection of the pack. Ana is being given piggy ride by Vincent who summoned some of his own warriors here. At Xandy's command, our warriors shifted into their wolves. Along with our pack, a few other packs along with the council and the clans of other species also volunteered themselves to be a part of the mission. They would be given a signal if things go south and aid will be provided as soon as possible. For now, only our pack  and some vampires are going with me as a protection as there is no immediate danger. Last minute preparations are being done when Xandy tugged me to the side away from the field. He gave me a dagger. I looked at it confusingly. "It is an enchanted dagger which is made of all the metals known to the human kind but looks like a normal dagger due to magic. It will help you in protecting yourself and please do not hesitate to use it when needed." "How did you get it?" I asked bewildered. "My grandma gave it to me when I was a child. She received this as a gift from her witch friend for protecting herself."

I nodded and took his face to kiss him. This kiss was different. We were pouring all our love and passion into the kiss. It was magical. We were interrupted by Vincent saying we are going to be late. I went there first followed by Xandy who was now shifted. I hid the dagger at the back so that my jacket covers it. I hopped on Lucifer's back while Ana climbed on Vincent's. Xandy howls loudly and starts sprinting, the others following us. We went into the forest just a few meters away from the building I have seen from the camp. Because we got the info that my professor's house is also a five minutes walk to this house. When we reached there, the house is exactly as I have seen back then except for the girl. The girl was not at the window this time. I got off Xandy's back and started going towards my professor's house. After walking for about three minutes, I saw the house. I went to it knocked on the door. As soon as I knocked, I heard some shuffling inside. In a few seconds, my professor opened the door. He had hell of a smile on his face when he saw me. What shocked me the most is that he was not at all surprised to see me. "Naina, it is so good to see you. Come on in" he ushered me inside. "So, my dear what brings you here?" he asks me. "Oh, I am just going to my home country for few days. I came here to wonder if you can recommend me to some jobs after I return?" I asked him. which is partially true. Before all this supernatural stuff, that was my original plan. I thought I would visit my aunt in  India once, then come back and pursue a job to settle here itself. He grinned at me with an evil glint in his eyes which made me nervous and hairs on my back stand. "Oh, I would love to recommend a bright and potential candidate as you for the companies. I am sure, they would be happy to receive an employee as you who is very determined." I smiled lightly but that smile faltered as soon as he said the next words. "But I wonder, why you want a job in a human company, when you already are a Luna to the most powerful pack around. I am sure your mate will be disappointed if he hears that you are not interested in the pack affairs especially after you completed the mating process."

As soon as I heard those words, all the color drained from my face. "Wh...at. ar..e you talking about sir?" I asked him trying to play cool. He started laughing loudly. "Oh, I am sure you know what exactly I am saying Naina, the Luna of the shining Moon Valley pack, mated to Xander Stone, the great undefeated Alpha." As soon as he said that, I tried to escape but as I was about to get up, someone pressed a cloth to my mouth. The last thing I saw was a grinning professor who was mumbling something which I could not hear clearly. I just hope that Xandy comes here in time. I don't know hat these monsters will do to me. 

Xander's POV:

Five minutes have passed since my angel went into her professor's house. Suddenly, I got anxious and panic surged through the bond. Something is wrong. I along with Vincent and Ana went to the house. I ordered Andrew and John to stay there itself.  As soon as we went into the house, we were shocked to see my angel lying there without moving. Ana and Vincent stood on guard, while I rushed to my angel. She was alive but unconscious. I carried her bridal style to the place where my pack was waiting. They all got anxious seeing their Luna like that. I ordered John along with the warriors to go and raid the abandoned building. They left along with Vincent and his warriors. Me, Ana and Andrew stayed here with my mate. Andrew handed me a water bottle. I sprinkled some water on her face. She wakes up startled and starts thrashing around wildly. I take her into my arms and comfort her. After some time, her struggle dies down. "What happened angel? Why were you unconscious?" I asked after she took deep breaths and calmed down. "He knows Xandy" she said her voice trembling. I knew then and there that he is even more dangerous than we previously predicted.
