Chapter-36

Naina’s POV:
After sending that bitch to the dungeons, we all sat in the office to discuss the rescue plan. Everything was done in two hours. The only thing which pissed me off is that Xander didn’t allow me to join the rescue team. When everyone left to relax for some time, I dragged Xandy to our room to give him a earful. “What the hell Xandy? Why did you not include me in the plan? Do you think I am weak? It has to do with me being a human right? You like everyone are thinking that I will not survive out there. I thought that you trusted me enough to lead your pack. You trusted me enough to know that I am strong despite being just a human. But I was wrong. I was fucking wrong” I shouted. He remained silent with a blank expression. His silence hurt me so much that I started sobbing loudly. I thought that Xandy treats me differently, he sees me differently. I slide down the wall crying to myself. I didn’t resist when he hugs me silently. “Why?” I whispered, I wanted to know why he doesn’t want me in the rescue team. I want to hear it from him. After my sobs died down, he lifted me bridal style, carried me to our bed and sets me on his lap. “My angel”, he started in a deep husky voice. “Never ever question yourself, your strength. You are one of the, if not the strongest person I know. Not everyone could handle the way you handled when the supernatural world was thrown at you. I am sure if I were in your place, I would have crumbled totally. You are and will be the most important person in my life. And to answer your question, no I don’t and ever doubted that you couldn’t handle yourself out there. Hell I know, even if I wasn’t here, you could easily lead our pack and return with success. It is just that I am…” I looked into his eyes when he stopped. And I was shocked to see fear in his eyes. He whispered “Afraid” confirming my thoughts. Xandy is afraid? But why? He sees the question in my eyes and leans in so that our foreheads were touching. He sighs and says in a low voice “I am afraid of losing you, angel. I love you so much that it hurts deeply even thinking that you are in any kind of danger. I was just 18 when my parents were nominated as the werewolf’s representatives of the council. They left me in charge of the pack. Don’t get me wrong, I love the pack, but it was like someone had splashed a jug of cold water on me when I was left behind by my parents. I love them so much that it hurt when they left me completely to fulfill their duties at that age. If it were not for my friends and the pack’s support, I would have lost it completely. They help me become the man I am today and I love them for that. When you came into my life, I was beyond happy. It was as if my whole purpose of life is fulfilled. You became the centre of my universe. You became my world, my sun, my moon, my life. And to even think something happening to you, I …. I can’t even imagine. I would die without you, my angel. I know I am being selfish, but if it means you will be safe, I don’t want you coming to the war. I don’t want to lose you”, he said looking into my eyes. Tears were flowing out of his eyes. I was shocked to say atleast. I knew he loved me, but I didn’t know I am his sole purpose to live. I kissed him slowly but firmly pouring all my feeling into it. When we were out of breath, we broke the kiss. “I love you “I whispered panting. He hugged me tightly and said in my ear “I love you too my angel. I love you so much that it hurts.”
I stopped arguing with him knowing that it is of no use. When it is time to leave, he hugged and kissed me passionately. “Be careful” I whispered. He left the head warrior and some other warriors in my charge to keep the pack safe. His team consists of about 1000 wolves some of which were not from our pack, along with warriors of different species including vampires. Even Ana was mad and sad at the same time because Vincent was not allowing her to come along too. I stood there with my best friend watching our mates leaving us and going to the war. I just hope they would come back safely. As soon as they were out of sight, Ana started wailing loudly. I hugged her comfortingly, she didn’t need to say anything; I knew how she was feeling at that moment. Time passed and we were waiting for their arrival. It’s been almost a day and a half, still no sign or message from our mates. We were worried for their safety. When it reached almost 48 hours we couldn’t bear to sit there helplessly. We were sitting in our room waiting anxiously when suddenly Ana stood up, “that’s it, I couldn’t bear this anymore. This tension is killing me. I would rather go out there and fight than sitting here waiting anxiously for them.” She was right, we have to do something.
So we made a plan and went to the office. I called the head warrior and told him our plan. He was slightly worried. “What is it?” I asked him. “Luna, I know that you are very much capable of protecting yourself  along with your friend here. But I couldn’t endanger your and the queen’s life like this by sending you there. We are lacking warriors here and we could not afford to send them with you and it is not an option to send you both alone.” “Who even said, they are alone?” came a voice from the door. When we turned our heads, there was a stunning girl standing there with blond hair, lean figure and toned legs. She was wearing a jeans with crop top which made her features even more stunning. I was about to ask who she was when the head warrior bowed and uttered “Alpha female”. I turned my head to see that she was indeed Xandy’s sister. They have many features in common. He told me about her that she was at an academy training to be a warrior and her training would be completed in two weeks. He was very enthusiastic to introduce us to each other. I never thought we would meet under these circumstances. She greeted the warrior with a warm smile and a nod. She then turned to me with a bright smile. “Hi I am Linda, Xandy’s sister and I  assume you are his mate?” she asked in a happy voice. I smiled politely and shook her outstretched hand, “Yep, I am Nina, your brother’s mate”. “Cool, so what’s the plan? We are going there to rescue every victim along my stupid brother. And don’t worry, we are not alone, I have a few friends who are fine warriors and are ready to accompany us”, she said looking at the warrior. He looked at three of us and nodded “very well, Luna I guess, you will be safe with them and best of luck to all of you. Don’t worry about the pack. I will make sure the pack remains safe and strong in your absence” he said with a hand on his heart. I thanked him and he left with a huge smile on his face. As soon as he left, I introduced Ana to Linda and we discussed the plan. As there was absolutely no time to waste, we set our plan into motion immediately. We left the pack with her friends leaving it in charge of the head warrior. Hold on Xandy, we are coming for you.
