Chapter-7

Naina's POV:

As expected, the dinner was really long. The food was delicious and so was the creamy chocolate cake for dessert. Yum! Thanks to Sophie, she reduced the awkwardness at the dining table with her gossips. After the dinner Xander left saying he had some work. I don't know why, but the second he left I felt cold. God! I'm screwed. I don't know what about this man just enthralls me. He make me feel warm inside. A silent solace I get from him. Is it just because he saved my life? Yes! that has to be it. That is the only reason, I tried convincing myself.

Oh my god! I totally forgot. I have to call my uncle How could I forget about them? I looked at the clock in my room. It was still 9.00, thank god! my cousins would be awake till 10. So, I can happily call them. I looked for my phone but it was no where to be seen. I should have lost it in the forest. Damn it! what should I do now? I went to Sophie's room and was about to knock when I heard a moan. OMG! I don't even want to think what they are doing. I just sighed nd went to Char's room next. To my surprise, the door was open but when I got in she was in deep sleep and snoring lightly. Not having the heart to wake her up, I just left the room and closed the door behind me. As I was walking back to my room, I felt a hand on my shoulder. I squeaked and was about to punch the person when someone grabbed my fist. It was Xander who caught my fist. He was standing there with an amused expression on his face.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. I was just going to my room and saw you here. Can I help you with anything?' he asked. God! he is looking so handsome in his night clothes. It should be illegal to be this handsome. "I have to call my uncle. But I lost my phone in the forest. They must be worried about me. Can I borrow your phone once?" "Why not! please go ahead", he gave me his phone. I dailed my cousin's number, and waited in apprehension as it is ringing. "Hello", came my cousin's voice. "Hey buddy! how are you?" I asked. "Naina! is that you?" "Yes buddy, it's me." "Where the hell are you? Why didn't you call us yesterday? We were so worried. Do you even know what our situation is? Dad has been thinking of the worst scenarios. Mom, dad it's Naina, come fast." I heard my aunt and uncle's foot steps. As soon as they took the phone, they started bombarding me with questions. "Guys!" I yelled, thank god they have stopped talking. I told them what happened these past hours. "Naina" my aunt was sobbing now, I felt a pang of guilt for bothering them. "Aunty! please don't cry, I'm sorry for worrying you, I promise I am fine now." I told her. We exchanged a few other pleasantries and finally I promised them that I will keep in touch and disconnected the call.

"When could I go back?" I asked Xander returning his back. I noticed that he became stiff when I asked that question. "What's wrong?" I asked him. "Nothing, just go to your room for now, I'll make arrangements for your journey to home whenever you like" he said with a cold voice turning around. He was about to leave but then he stopped and said "You can keep the phone for now." Even before I could thank him, he just left. I was happy that I could meet my family soon but somewhere there was a sad feeling that I would have to say good bye to all my new friends, especially Xander. I don't know why, but just thinking about leaving him is painful. I don't know when or if I will be able to meet him again, if I could ever be able to forget him. Oh god! please save me.
