Chapter-28

Naina's POV:

As soon as those words left his mouth, I was stunned. The freaking vampire king. If the vampires are anything like they show in the movies, I think I will just pass meeting him. I don't want to become a snack for him. Sensing my discomfort, Xandy comforts me saying "Don't worry angel, he is an old friend to my father and he is a friendly guy. I am sure he will not start a war with us by hurting you", squeezing my hand in assurance. His touch was very comforting and it helped my nerves to settle down. I trust him with my life. And if he is saying that meeting the king is no harm, I will meet him definitely. I took a deep breath and said "Ok then, lets get this over with." He smiled and we went outside to meet the king at the border. John and Char accompanied us. Andrew stayed with Sophie. Friend or not, John didn't want to risk his pregnant wife with this vampire without knowing the purpose of his visit. We all reached the border within five minutes. Thanks to werewolf speed, as for me my mate carried me in his arms while running. At the border, he set me down. We walked hand in hand to where our warriors were standing in the form of a circle surrounding some one. As soon as we got there, they parted their ways to reveal a well built man who looks not more than 20. His skin was pale, had blonde hair and striking green eyes. 

When he saw us, he gave us a broad smile showing his canines. They were fascinating at the same time, they were scary. "Ha! Alpha Xander, how good to see you? And I believe this is your beloved. Such a beauty that too a human. How lovely!" he exclaimed eyeing me. Xandy growled a little when he was eyeing me. He laughs and says "no need to be possessive young one, I would never harm any innocent girl nevertheless a luna. You have my word that as long as I am here, I will not harm her or any of your pack members for that matter. I came here to help you with solving the mystery of disappearing creatures." That piqued my interest. "Why don't we all go and discuss this in the office!" John said slowly to which everyone agreed. We all entered the office and settled down. "What is that with which you could possibly help us, Lord Vincent?" Xandy asked Vincent. "Nonsense, you can call me Vincent young boy" he says chuckling. He then continued, "As I was searching for the missing vampires, I stumbled on a witch who has a reliable information on these missing persons. But you must promise me that you will not harm her once she is here because I know that werewolves and witches don't get along well." "Why do you care so much about this little witch?" Char asked him curiously. Vincent smirked and answered "Because she is my beloved. And I have to ensure her safety first before bringing her here."  Xandy nodded "Alright Vincent, I promise no harm will come to your mate here as long as she is harmless to us. We would do anything to bring back the missing creatures even if it means to forget the grudges we have against others" Xandy answered confidently.

 I was so proud of him. He is a real Alpha who is selfless and doesn't let his ego and pride come between the happiness of his pack. I could see the pride in the eyes of everyone present here including Vincent. Vincent grinned and says "I am very proud of you Alpha. And I promise she is not harmful nor she has any intention to bring any harm to anyone here. She comes here in peace and just to help." Vincent eyes suddenly clouded indicating that he is mind linking someone. As soon as the glaze in his eyes cleared, wind swirled strongly throughout the room. Xandy held me close to protect me in case of any dangers. It was over in a few seconds and a purple smoke came inside. From the smoke, a figure emerged. As soon as I saw her, I was stunned. She looked all over the room and her gaze stopped on me. "Bestie" she said in a low voice. "Ana" I whispered in shock.

Werewolves soul mates are called mates where as Vampires call theirs beloved. Mates can be of any species. 

Mind link is a common feature of every supernatural. But one can only mind link another only if they are in the same pack or they are mates even if one of them is a human.
