Ahhh finally! It's Christmas time! I've been waiting for this time of the season. It's such a thrill to spend time with the ones you love and exchange gifts. I'm especially excited because this is Erik and I's first Christmas together. The thing is...he doesn't seem as excited as I am. In fact, he didn't even realize it was December until I told him.

"Erik!" He stops playing his organ once he hears my voice. He looks quite distracted but still gives me a soft smile before continuing to play. I stop right next to him with a grin slowly sneaking on my face, "Guess what day it is!"

He mumbles out, "I have no idea." A small groan emits from me but I'm quick to gain my smile back.

"It's December! It's finally Christmas time. Aren't you excited?"

His eyes meet mine for a moment but unfortunately all he does is shrug, "Wow, I thought it was still October...damn."
Then his attention goes back to his latest piece. Nothing came out of him after that no matter how many begs came out my mouth for him to be excited.

So, that was a fail...but hey there's still plenty of time. My next try to make him excited for the season was to decorate and well that didn't exactly go according to plan...

"(Y/N), what in the world happened in here?!"

The lair is covered head to toe in Christmas decorations. There are stockings on the wall: one for me, one for him, and one for Ayesha. Some of his candles have been replaced with red and green ones instead, it's festive! There's a spot over his organ where I put some mistletoe so every time he sits down he has to kiss me. I've brought some of my plates from home that have a more Christmas vibe to them so we can be jolly even while eating. Lastly, there's a fake tree in the living room where there are already some wrapped presents.

A smile breaks out on my face while I do jazz hands, "It's officially Christmas-y in here! Isn't that wonderful?"
He just glares at all the decorations before grunting out, "Take them down."
Then he walks off towards his room and slams his door. This might be a bad time to say I've bought him some red and green clothes to wear and laid them out on his coffin...oops!
Then as if on cue there's a loud annoyed groan and then I hear some objects hit the wall. So he wasn't a fan...

So all my attempts to make it merry and bright have failed, perhaps he needs to do more hands on things?
My hand hold his as I drag him to the living room where the Christmas tree is. No matter how much he complained I refused to take anything down.

"Okay, so I see you're not really enjoying all the decorations I put up. It took me hours to put them up but whatever!"
An awkward laugh escapes me as he just stares blanked faced at me.
"Maybe you need to try and have some Christmas spirit! I've waited to decorate the tree with you. Isn't that fun?"
He watches silently as I lean down to grab a tin, I open it to reveal all the Christmas tree ornaments.

My hope at this point is dwindling but giving up is something I don't want to do. He would have fun but he's just so stubborn he refuses to try.
"At least put some ornaments on the tree, I won't ask you to help with anything else." Begging might be the only option now, along with whipping out the sad puppy dog eyes.

He doesn't break from my silly attempts at trying to get him to participate, now my heart really does start to hurt. I just wanted to have fun with him, he's never really experienced Christmas before so maybe I thought he would have a good time. What am I kidding? Everything about Christmas is against him, of course he doesn't want to join in. I'm not even mad at him, I'm just hurt that I tried so hard and got nowhere.

My hands slowly lower and I put the tin of tree ornaments down.
"I'll take everything down soon, I'm sorry. It'll be going away before you know it, just give me a moment please. I need to get some air."
I suck in my breath as tears prick my eyes. I walk past him and start going for the door to leave the room and start heading upstairs to go outside.
His hand grabs mine before I can make it out the room.

"Wait, no don't go! Don't take anything down either. This is fun for you and I'm ruining it...would you please show me what Christmas is all about? Upsetting you is the last thing I want to do."

My head turns to him and he has a genuine upset look on his face. A small smile creeps onto my face, "Are you sure? This isn't really your thing. I understand, I shouldn't have put all this up in the first place."

He quickly shakes his head and steps closer to me, "It's not my thing...but it's yours. I want to enjoy the things you enjoy as well. Perhaps it can be our thing? I'll try harder to be more involved, I've just never really done this before."

Excitement burst out of me and it comes out of every pore. He gasps as my arms envelop him in a tight and warm hug. It takes him a second but he slowly leans into the hug and it's my turn to gasp when he kisses my forehead. Then he looks confused as I bite my lip to keep my excitement back. My hands hold his and I drag him to his organ and make him sit down, I sit down on him and kiss him hard. It takes him by surprise but eventually he accepts it after a few seconds.

Once he parts he has a huge blush on his face, "What was that for?"
A smirk appears on my face as I point upwards and say cockily, "Mistletoe."

After we decorate the tree with no more problems. He tried to act like he hated it but I saw the smile on his face he tried to hide. As we finish I ask, "So, can we sing carols?"

   He nods, "Of course."

I get more excited for the next question, "Can we bake cookies and wrap presents?"

   "Sounds wonderful."

At this point I'm basically bursting from happiness, "Will you wear the Christmas clothes I got you?"

   "Okay...now we're pushing it."

We may have had a disagreement in the beginning but he came around. We did everything we were both comfortable with doing. Okay, well not always comfortable. Long story short I eventually got the Santa hat on him after some struggle, it was worth it though! This by far was the best Christmas I've ever had and it was Erik's first Christmas! I think he enjoyed it!
