A little surprise for you~
—————————————————————

The morning comes in and it already smells like a new wonderful day. The clock reads a good early time, a time to get up and start the day. The bed moves a bit so I look to my side to see my husband sleeping beside me.

It makes me smile seeing him so peaceful. It might be sad but I'm quite proud of him for getting to bed on his own, usually he needs to be dragged from his work to get to bed. Recently though he realized how lonely it gets for me in here, so he's made an effort to tear himself from his music to get to bed a bit earlier than he would like. It's very sweet and it's something I appreciate a lot.

I place a quick kiss on Erik's nose, he stirs a bit but doesn't wake up thankfully. It's good that he's getting the rest he needs. After getting a good look at his handsome face I turn over and remove the blanket from me. The cold air hits my skin but it doesn't bother me...much. Once I get dressed more it'll be better! Besides, there's something important I would like to do so it keeps me motivated to get up.

After a quick bath I get dressed and fix my hair. As I'm walking back into the bedroom I bump into Erik's chest. A giggle escapes me once we make contact and it makes me look up at him.

   "Good morning~"

He leans down and kisses my forehead, "Good morning, I shall start breakfast soon."

An evil grin comes upon my face and he already knows what I'm about to say.
"Don't burn down the kitchen!"

   "It was one time!"

He glares at me for a few moments before we burst into laughter. Yes, that's correct, many months ago the opera ghost almost burned down his kitchen. It's been almost a year ago now but I can't let him down for it, it's too funny. The moment I happen to step away things almost took a very bad turn, at least he pays attention once things go up in flames. Let's just say we sat down for a few moments in silence before leaving and heading to Nadir's house for him to make us breakfast instead. It was an odd day.

Erik moves past me and makes his way to the bathroom. I sit upon our bed and put my socks and shoes on, then I look in the mirror and fix my hair up a bit more.
A hum echos off the walls as I happily skip to the kitchen, the lair has felt a lot more lively since I moved in. Before it was just Erik and Ayesha, his cat. They're a lovely duo but this place has definitely felt more like a home since my belongings have been mixed in with his.

Ayesha meows at me once she senses someone has entered the kitchen. She impatiently moves to her bowl while I get her food.
"One moment, hun! Be patient."
She meows like how a baby would sassily respond to their parent. I turn around with a hand on my hip, "What did you say?"

   "Meow...?"

   "That's what I thought."

She purrs joyfully once her food is placed in her bowl. It's nice watching her so happy and content. I take a few steps back and gasp as I bump into Erik once more. He places his hands on my shoulders to let me know it's just him.

"Sassing my cat again, are we?"

He grins at the smile on my face. His hand runs through my hair to push away any stray hairs that have fallen in front of my eyes.

"Maybe! It's not my fault, she's quite sassy herself."

That wonderful laugh of his fills the room. Just about everything from Erik is absolutely wonderful. His voice is beautiful but it's nothing compared to being able to hear his laugh in the early morning. Being able to hear his sighs when his pieces aren't going the way he wants them to. Being able to see his smile, his pure smile. His eyes just light up and his smile is like none you have ever seen. He says he's not beautiful but I truly have to disagree. He's the most beautiful man to have ever walked the earth.

He absentmindedly plays with my sleeve as he asks, "Are we going to the roof now?"

   "Hm? Why?"

His eyes meet mine while I feel my hands being held by his.

"The sunrise. You like to get up early to see the sunrise. This time I thought it would be nice if I would join you."

Tears well up in my eyes. He wants to watch the sunrise with me? He doesn't usually go with me, it's usually something I do alone.

"You want to come with me?" I ask almost unsure. I don't know why I doubt what I heard so much but it truly just surprised me. He's never asked to come with me. Usually it's me dragging him to the rooftop of the opera house with me. He isn't the biggest fan of going up there which I understand, if someone catches sight of him it would be a huge screaming mess.

Erik nods with a gentle smile, "I do. I heard the weather is supposed to be nice today, thought it would be nice to join you out there. Do you want me to come?"
Now it's his turn to look so unsure. Supposed my surprise confused him.

Before he knows it he's being dragged to one of the secret tunnels that leads upstairs, "Yes! Let's go! Right now."

He laughs a bit as he has to run a bit to catch up with me to walk beside me, "Before breakfast?"

   "Yes! Breakfast can wait!"

We both share a grin towards each other and head through the tunnel. It's a long passageway but with Erik by my side it doesn't feel that long. Once we reach the top of the opera house we see the sky filled with beautiful oranges, yellows, and pinks. Our hands never leave each other as we find a good spot to enjoy all the gorgeous colors in.

A content sigh escapes me as we stare into the mess of colors from the moon and sun. It's a brilliant combination as the sun slowly begins to take over. It's always been an important sight to me. It reminds me of Erik and I.

Erik the moon with his mysterious and cool look, his dark colors, and eerie but enchanting music of the night.

Me the sun with my positive outlook of a new day. Here to show Erik that blues and purples aren't the only colors that need to cover the sky, he can shed a little light himself.

Together we make a beautiful mix of colors that you can't see any other time of day. The calming silence of dark slowly gets closed in by the birds of morning. It's still calm but it's becoming a bit more lively. We stare out into the beautiful colors of the sky until he looks at me.

   "I love you, sunshine."

A small gasps leaves me from hearing that nickname, then a light blush fills my cheeks. "I love you too, moonlight."

Afterwards we head back downstairs into our cozy lair. We make our way back to the kitchen to make our breakfast. This time without burning down anything! What a miracle! Don't let Erik hear that~

Once we finish eating Erik heads into our room to get a little more prepared for the day. I sit upon the couch and look at the coffee table in front of me. Erik's gloves lay on the table messily, I pick them up and fold them neatly. Folding them doesn't do much for long since they don't leave my hands, I play with the cloth with a smile. Erik enters the room while adjusting his mask on his face.

"I must head out now. Box five is calling my name."

He lifts me to my feet and we share a hug. He truly must be antsy to go because he quickly turns around and starts heading for the way to leave.

   "Uhm, did you forget something?"

His pace slows down and he gives me an apologetic look, "Oh, yes sorry!" He comes back over to me and kisses my lips gently he whispers goodbye once more while I blush.

   "I-I meant this."
My hands slowly lift up to reveal his gloves that I've been playing with. He takes them from me with a blush of his own, "Thank you, see you later."

Then, just like that, he leaves. Once his footsteps are out of my hearing I giggle to myself. I truly married the most incredible man.
