Chapter 17

Klaus walked in to his art studio slightly taken aback at the sight of Davina there painting.

"Hi" Davina looked up with a cheeky grin, "I know this is your space but it has great light and I needed to paint, also your art studio always reminds me of Hope she set her own studio up very similar to you" Davina rushed her words out, her eyes alight with a fondness at  her remembrance of Hope.

Klaus sat on a stool close to Davina," Did you and Hope paint together often?" Klaus asked intrigued.

"Yes after you died with the Hollow, Kol and I would go to the compound often when Hope was on school holidays, it was something her and I enjoyed doing together, her calm time, she felt connected to you when she painted, she was less sad." Davina explained.

"You paint well Davina,and Thank you for being there for Hope" Klaus said sincerely, he knew she had hated him in the previous timeline, but in this one he felt no animosity from her, she fit well into the Mikaelson family and Kol loved her fiercely.

"I loved her Klaus, spending time with her was a joy, but you are welcome" she said with a grin, she watched him as his head snapped around focusing on Damon Salvatore's striding figure outside the window walking to Hayley, who was standing on her own watching the hybrids fight in the ring, his eyes narrowing.

"No need to be jealous Klaus, of Damon he's just curious when it comes to Hayley" Davina said gently.

"He desires her Davina" Klaus spat out never talking his eyes from the two figures through the window.

" Maybe a little but he's not stupid enough to act on it, he knows he would lose his head at your hand, and Hayley is not interested in him and she would never do that to you Klaus, she is loyal to you." Davina explained as she continued to paint, musing to herself how alike Klaus and Kol were, protective, possessive, quick to kill a threat, yet passionate, loving, selfless and devoted to those they loved.

"Because of Hope" Klaus said back to her softly a question in his tone.

"Not just because of Hope, Klaus, she committed herself to you, she knew exactly what that would mean, Hayley is one of the most loyal people I know, in the last timeline you were partners for Hope and you were both dedicated to that, this time you are married, unified and she will be dedicated to your union, always and forever." Davina said softly again with conviction, and she watched  his body as it seemed to relax a little, she smiled to herself, Rebekah was right, Klaus and Hayley were clueless when it came to each other.

"Always and Forever" Klaus murmured as he left the studio.

"She wolf good to see you," Damon said with a smirk as he halted and stood next to her.

"Hayley, my name is Hayley, Damon" She replied with a roll of her eyes which stayed on the hybrids.

"I'm curious Hayleeey, as to why you have not become a hybrid, I thought for sure Klaus would have made you one, specially as he is immortal, surely he would want you around longer than a mortals lifespan?" Damon poked and dug for information with his words.

"I will transition after we have children" Hayley stated bluntly, the others knowing they would have children didn't put Hope at risk, so it didn't need to remain a secret and maybe it would put Damon in his place, back off a bit, otherwise the black haired vampire was at risk of losing his head, at Klaus's hands and Klaus was fond of Stefan, she needed Damon to back off, and Stefan would be grief stricken at the loss of his Brother, they had already endured great tragedy in the previous timeline and Hayley wanted to see a different outcome in this one.
