Arkala's Princess

Chapter 6

As I take some clothes out of the walk in wardrobe, I can't help but think that this is all a dream. But it's not. It's real.

In the end, I decide on a cute summer dress, and slip it on. There is a full length mirror in this room too, and I take a look. This dress is greyish, but not really, if that makes sense, and it comes to about mid-thigh, with my black converse high tops. Afterwards, I grab my bag and head out the door, and downstairs into the massive kitchen.

"Good morning Miss Wayne." The Cook says.

"Morning." I smile, as I sit myself on the countertop. "What's for breakfast?" I ask. I've been in this house for a few days now and I'm kind of trying to get used to all this, and I'm trying to be more friendly to all the staff.

"Pancakes." The cook says, placing a plate of pancakes in front of me with maple syrup drizzled on top.

"Mm, yum. Thank you." I say, grabbing my fork and knife and digging in.

"Morning." A familiar voice says, and I turn around to see my brother.

"What are you doing here?" I ask, as he sits down next to me.

"Well hello to you too."

"Good morning Mr Wayne." The cook says.

"Morning." Dylan says and I roll my eyes. "What am I doing here? Well, I don't know, I'm gonna spend the last few days here."

"What? Why?"

"Because. I'm part of the family."

"So?" I say, glancing at the time. I keep eating. Wade will probably be waiting for me.

"Whatever. I'm here, that's all that matters." Dylan says, as he starts eating himself. "Hey. I wanted to tell you something."

"What?"

"Well.... I just wanted to say.... Good luck."

"For what?" I ask, even though I know the answer. I just want him to say it.

"For.... You know....."

"No, I don't. Tell me." I say.

"For being the queen and stuff." Dylan huffs and I smirk.

"Thanks." I say to Dylan. "Thank you." I say turning to the cook. "I'm gonna head to school now. See you." I say and walk out of the kitchen, grabbing my bag and slinging it over one shoulder and walking out of the house, and into the limousine parked outside, with Wade waiting. He opens the door for me.

"Good morning, Miss."

"Morning Wade." I say as I slide in. He closes the door and walks over to the driver's seat and starts to drive. I look out the window, and watch all the passing houses as I sigh. How could everything have changed so quickly? It doesn't make sense. I thought that our family was normal, but I guess I was wrong. And I still haven't told anyone about this. This..... Me being the princess and a all that. None of my friends, not even my best friend, or my boyfriend. I don't really want to, they might treat me differently. I just.... I don't know how I would take that. The last few days have been hard. I'm trying to act normal, like there is nothing wrong and that nothing changed. I'm taking princess lessons with my grandma after schools, which means I can't hang out with my friends. But I think I need to once in a while, I can't keep saying I'm busy everyday because then they'll get suspicious. "Wade? Could you just drop me off here?" I ask, when we're just around the corner from school.

"Here? The school is just over there, miss." Wade says.

"No, it's fine. I can.... I can walk from here."
