Arkala's Princess

Chapter 2

"A spa?"

"Yup. They have little private ones."

"Aw that is so romantic!" I say, smiling as I get out of the car.

"I'm glad you like it." Ryder smiles as he takes my hand in his as we walk to the reception.

"Uh, hi, I have a booking-" Ryder says to the receptionist while I look around. There is one big spa in the middle, and there's also a pool, and around the pool, there's little rooms and there's probably little spas in there. "You ready?" Ryder asks.

"Yeah." I nod as he leads me into a room, after he grabs two towels from a big shelf where they have big fluffy towels. Ryder closes the door behind him, and begins to take his shirt off. I take my own dress off and I slip into the warm water. Ryder follows shortly after. "This is so sweet of you." I say.

"Thanks, babe." Ryder grins and leans in for a kiss. I kiss back passionately, and he soon has a hand behind my neck, bringing me closer to him. A knock on the door makes us pull apart. "Come in." Ryder says as a worker comes in with two sodas, and hands them to us.

"Thank you." I say and Ryder does the same and the worker walks out.

"I got a special room, where some waiters come in once in a while for drinks or any food we want." Ryder grins.

"Really?" I smile. "Aw thank you!"

"It's alright. And happy birthday." Ryder says as he shuffles over closer to me, and kisses me again. I put my drink down and wrap my arms around his neck, as our lips move in sync together.

"You're the sweetest guy ever." I say in between our kisses.

"I agree." Ryder says and he smirks while we kiss. We pull away, and have our drinks.

"Wow this is so romantic, I can't believe you did this for me." I say.

"Sydney, of course I would do this for you. It's your birthday, and I wanted to make it special."

"Aw, thank you." I say, and pull him in for a hug, and he returns it. I shuffle over to Ryder and lean my head on his shoulder, my light brown waves probably getting wet in the process. We both stay silent for a while, but it was a comfortable silence.

"Does your brother not like me?" Ryder speaks up.

"What?" I sit up. "Of course he likes you."

"Really," Ryder says sarcastically. "You think so?"

"Well..... I don't know, he's like, I don't know, he doesn't like it when I bring guys home and stuff because he doesn't want me to get hurt and stuff but it's my own decision, isn't it?"

"I guess..... But I just kind of feel.... I don't know, like he doesn't like me, me."

"What? Don't think that." I say softly, putting a hand on his cheek. He looks up at and me gives me a small smile. "Ignore my idiot brother. Don't worry about it, he's just one person, and it doesn't change the way I look at you." I say, and lean in and kiss him on the lips. he kisses back, our lips moving together. When we pull away, I lean in and give him a hug, in which he returns.

"I'm home!" I say when I step in the house, with no reply, as per usual. Mom and Dad are always busy so they don't come home until late, or sometimes they just go on holiday for like a month. My brother? Well, who cares?

I walk towards the stairs, when I hear a door close behind me. I turn around to my mother.

"Mom." I say.

"Hey honey." Mom says, walking over to me.

"What are you doing here so early?"

"Oh, I just decided to see my two wonderful children. I also have something that I wanted to tell you."

"Oh." I say.

"Come into the living room, and I'll get dad and Dylan. Oh, and can you tell Lisa to get us a few drinks? The usual drinks." Mom says and I nod. Lisa is our house maid, and she's in her twenties, and she's like a sister to me.

"Hey Lisa? Could you please get us a few drinks, the usual ones into the living room?" I ask when I walk into the kitchen.

"Sure thing." Lisa says as she opens the fridge.

"Thanks." I say and walk into the living room. My mom, dad and Dylan's all sitting there, and I sit on the couch. I can tell this is serious, the tension in the room is-

"So." Mom says, interrupting my thoughts, causing me to look up at her. "Let's cut straight to the chase, shall we?"

"Hurry up." Dylan mutters under his breath and mom gives him a look.

"It's about your aunt, Sydney." Dad says.

"M-my aunt?" I stammer.

"Yes, your aunt. Your aunt Genevieve."

"Wait.... But you-"

"Yes, honey. She's supposedly dead but she's....." Mom sighs. "She was actually alive."

"What?"

"Yes, honey. Your... Your aunt Gen passed away today." Dad says.

"What?" I say, biting my lip. "And why are you telling me that now, and why did you keep it from me in the first place?" I hear Dylan sigh.

"Because." Mom says. And I look at her. "Because she's a queen."
