Arkala's Princess
Chapter 13
"Hey, Trystan?" I walk up to Trystan, after Kyle's late birthday party has finished. It's getting dark, and my limo's waiting for me outside.
"Hey, Sydney."
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah."
"You sure?"
"Yeah." He sighs.
"So are you going back to Fallis now?"
"Yeah. Probably."
"What do you mean probably?" I ask.
"Just.... I don't know.... I might just hang somewhere else."
"W-what?"
"No! Like, I mean like, I don't really want to face my dad right now."
"Oh. Do you.... Want to talk about it?"
"Um..... Well.... I.... I guess.... Well," Trystan sighs. "My dad wants me to stop being stupid and actually have a serious relationship. He wants me to be king what he retires, y'know?"
"Oh....."
"Yeah." Trystan sighs, and I just want to pull him in for a hug, but something stops me.
"Miss, it's time to go." Ruby walks up to me and I nod.
"I'll be there in a sec." I say, and Ruby walks away. "I'll see you later, Trystan. I hope things work out."
"Yeah. Thanks. See ya." Trystan says and I walk away.

"Sydney, so this is what my own mother told me. So the first steps to becoming a queen." My grandmother says, sipping some tea. I nod. "So first, you need to try to be polite, and gentle, and.. Elegant. Very elegant."
"Okay...."
"So with everything you say, and how you act. Gently."
"Okay. So....."
"So, when you talk to someone you don't know. How would you speak?" My grandma asks.
"Um.... Hello."
"Keep going."
"So I introduce myself?"
"Yes."
"Okay. So, hello. I'm uh-"
"Princess Sydney of Arkala." My grandmother says.
"Hello, I'm princess Sydney of Arkala."
"Good. Stand up, and put you hands together, like this." My grandma stands up, showing me. I stand up in my shorts and top, and copy what she's doing. "Good. Oh, and do a little curtsey, like so." My grandmother curtseys, and I copy her.
"Hello, I'm princess Sydney of Arkala." I say, after I curtsey.
"Well, yes. But there something missing. It also sounds too forced. How do you think you should be greeting someone?"
"Um," I curtsey. "Hello, I'm Sydney?"
"Sydney! You're not just Sydney. You're princess Sydney."
"I know, but it sounds weird."
"But you've got to do it. That is how you address yourself. So you curtsey." My grandma curtseys. "Hello, how do you do? And then you pause. You then say, princess Sydney of Arkala. And then they'll say something along the lines of, good thank you, and you? And you shall say, very well."
