The warm morning sunlight soaked into my skin as I sat in the bay window of our room, reading one of Elijah's journals. He had left early this morning to go see Vincent, and since the house seemed eerily quiet, I decided to distract myself from the Lucien situation and read about Elijah's past life. I had just cracked open the brittle yellow pages when I heard a knock on the door, followed by Klaus sticking his head in. "Addie?"

"Yeah, come in," I answered and closed the book, setting it down on the bench beside me as I turned to face him. I immediately noticed the dreadful look on his face and rose to my feet, feeling my heart skip a beat. "What is it?" I demanded.

"He's fine," Klaus assured me, knowing that I was worried about Elijah. "It's Camille."

"What happened?" I felt the wind leave my lungs.

"You better come see," he nodded his head for me to follow him as he opened the door. He led me into the study, where Hayley and Freya were talking about something in the corner. Cami was sitting on the couch, staring absentmindedly at some statue on the coffee table. Her skin was pale and she had a thin layer of sweat on her forehead.

"Cami? What's wrong?" I asked as I rushed to her side. The smell of blood and venom hit my nostrils almost immediately and I gently lifted her sleeve to see the bite mark on her forearm. "Lucien?" I guessed as I sat down beside her in defeat.

She nodded weakly and withdrew her arm as she pulled down her sleeve. I glanced at Klaus and Freya, hoping that they had already come up with a solution, "So what now?"

Klaus walked forward holding a small jar in his hands. "Hold still," he instructed as he sat on the other side of her. "This is going to burn," he said before placing a piece of cloth over her wound, pressing down gently.

"Ow, what is that?" Cami winced, taking over to hold pressure on her arm.

"It's a healing salve. Motherwort, white willow bark. The recipe is over 1,000 years old," Freya explained.

Cami chuckled lightly, "So the good stuff, huh?"

"It will ease the pain, dull the symptoms, but it won't stop the infection," Freya corrected sadly.

"So I'm screwed," Cami's shoulders deflated.

"No, you're not," I told her sternly while shaking my head. I looked at the others, "We're going to do everything we can."

"To that end, a little assistance," Elijah's voice joined the conversation as he and Vincent walked into the room.

Vincent sighed and shook his head, "Cami, I'm so sorry."

"You should be. This is your fault," Klaus snapped and jumped to his feet to approach him. "It was you who turned Lucien into a beast—"

Elijah stopped his brother before he could reach the witch as Cami spoke, "Klaus, stop! It's not his fault."

"Cami's right. We all need to work together to fix this," Hayley told us.

Klaus nodded to himself as he seemed to settle down. "Yeah. Yeah, I think I know how to fix it. Lucien has always been obsessed with me. He made himself like me. And my bite is cured by my blood," he stated, beginning to pace around the room.

"You think his blood could cure her?" I asked eagerly.

"It make sense. Lucien would want that power," Elijah agreed.

"Allowing himself to lord over his victims," Klaus continued in a confident voice.

"Okay, so we got a working theory, now we got to test it," Vincent declared.
