When I woke up, I rolled over, expecting Elijah to be beside me, but his spot was empty. I sat up in confusion and reached for my phone to see if there are any missed calls or texts from him, but there was nothing. I fell asleep last night while waiting for him to get back and assumed he'd be back by morning.

Fear and worry coursed through me as I got up and quickly changed while dialing his number. Straight to voicemail. I called him again while heading downstairs to search for Klaus or anyone, but everyone was gone, besides the few Crescents that Hayley brought here. Something was definitely wrong. Elijah should've been back by now.

I decided to call Hayley as I headed for the docks where Elijah and Oliver were supposed to lure the wolves. "Addie, what's up?" Hayley asked when she answered, and I sighed in relief that she was alright.

"Have you seen Elijah?" I demanded.

She paused, "No, not since last night."

"I think something's wrong," I confessed, not bothering to hide the panic in my voice. "He isn't answering my calls or texts and he hasn't come back to the compound."

"I haven't heard from Oliver either," she admitted, and I felt my stomach drop even more. "Give me a second. I'll meet you at the docks."

I hung up and quickened my pace towards the river. After a few minutes, I pushed open the old door and ran inside, hoping that Elijah would be waiting for me. I rounded some old cars that were left here and gasped at the sight of blood on the floor. It was everywhere.

"Anything?" Hayley asked as she appeared and walked to where I was standing, stopping in her tracks when she saw the blood. Marcel was behind her and his eyes widened at the sight of it.

"Tell me this isn't his," I pleaded.

Hayley knelt down and swiped some of the blood up with her fingers, smelling it. Her face fell and I felt the knot in my stomach tighten. "It's a mix of werewolf and vampire blood," she informed us as she stood back up and wiped her hands off.

"It's Esther. I know it is," I realized while trying to calm myself down. I knew I was going to make myself go crazy if I just sat here and worried, but I couldn't help it. I knew something had happened to Elijah and he could've been God knows where.

I got out my phone and dialed Klaus' number, hoping he knew where his brother was. It rang for a few minutes before he answered with a groan. "What is it, Addie? I'm a little busy."

"Elijah's missing. I think Esther took him," I relayed to him.

"Wonderful," he huffed. "I'm sort of busy right now dealing with more important things."

"What's more important than your brother?" I snapped.

"My life," he answered. "Mikael is on the loose and possesses the white oak stake. I'm trying to locate him and kill him before he kills me. That's what's more important."

"Mikael can wait one day. We need your help tracking Elijah," I told him sternly. I can't believe he didn't care that Elijah was missing and Esther had him.

Klaus paused for a second before sighing. "He has Cami. That's why I'm looking for him."

"He what?" I felt my heart stop. I knew how ruthless Mikael was and how he wouldn't hesitate to hurt or kill Cami just to get back at Klaus.

"I'm wasting time talking to you. Call me with an update on Elijah if you get one. By the end of the day, either Mikael or I will be ash," he said before hanging up. I didn't bother telling Hayley and Marcel what happened, knowing they heard everything.
