Chapter 10: Family Dinner

Zuko Pov

Katara and I had returned to the Fire Nation 3 days ago. Pregnancy was really getting to her. She was in her second month and was extremely moody and extra tired.
Yesterday she had left me alone all day, I only saw her during dinner.

We were once again at the table with my mother, Uncle, Kiyi, and Ikem. We had also invited Sokka, Suki, and Hakoda to join us. Katara also wanted to make sure her father knew she was pregnant.

"Councilman Sokka, Lady Suki, and Chief Hakoda have arrived your majesties." A guard came in and bowed.

"What's up fam?" Sokka came in and hollered.

"Would you quiet down...fam?" Katara said bringing 3 fingers to her head

"Yeesh, nice to see you too... baby sis." Sokka smirked
Katara rolled her eyes

"Good to see you again Katara, Zuko, Royal Family." Hakoda said

"Welcome, good to see you too." Zuko said getting up and shaking Hakoda's hand

"What about your brother-in-law?"

"You too Sokka. You as well Suki."

"Hey Zuko." Suki said.

"Suki sit next to me!" Kiyi waved

Everyone got seated and made small talk.

"So Kiyi, you must be almost a young woman by now?" Suki asked.

"13" Kiyi said proudly.

"It truly is an honor to see you all again." Hakoda said addressing the royal family.

"You too Chief, say how is the Tribe?" Iroh asked.

"Good, it's getting itself back in order."

"I want to see Water Tribes someday. Actually, feeling cold for once. The ice and penguins." Kiyi said

"Kiyi and her big dreams." Ikem laughed

"Well, they're not just my dreams. Tom Tom and I both want to go. We said were going when we're older." Kiyi crossed her arms.

"You see Tom Tom still?" Zuko asked

"We haven't taken you over there in a long time, and he hasn't been to the palace." Ursa said raising an eyebrow

"We're still best friends. Just because screwed things with Mai doesn't mean that had to change."

"Kiyi!" Ikem and Ursa shouted in unison

Suki and Sokka looked at each other for a moment then their teacups. They pretended to take long sips trying not to look at the Royal Family.

Soon the chefs came and brought their meals.

"Dinner how delightful." Katara said

"It looks delicious." Iroh said trying to lighten the mood.

"What about Tom Tom and I? Can we still be friends?" Kiyi asked

"Of course, Kiyi. Let's just enjoy dinner." Zuko said

After a few minutes of eating, a few servants came in.

"What is this?" Hakoda asked.

"Part of your surprise everyone." Katara smiled

They each held up a baby item and lifted it above their heads.

"What is all this?" Ursa asked

"I'm carrying the new heir to the throne." Katara said smiling.

"You're pregnant?' Hakoda asked
