I was sitting on the couch feeding my Izumi. She was peacefully falling asleep till I heard a knock on my door. 'Ty Lee isn't visiting' I thought. I walked over to open the door to see her standing there along with someone in diguise behind her.
"Surprise visit?" I said sarcastically.
"Not quite, we need yoyr help." Ty Lee said nervously.
"Who's we?" I asked raising an eyebrow.
"Me." someone said pulling down their hood.
"Azula? Ty Lee we're helping Azula?"
"Mai, I really believe she's changed."
"Not to ruin the mood but, Mai is that your daughter?" Azula asked looking at Izumi in Mai's arms.
"This is why I said she might not help."
"Yeah, this is my daughter. And I will not be of service." I said walking away.
"Mai please, this is serious. Someone could be planning on assassinating Katara." Ty Lee said walking in.
"She has the Firelord to protect her." I said sitting down.
Ty Lee and Azula slowly walked in and sat on the other couch across from me.
"I just can't help okay?"
"You can't or you won't?" Azula smirked
"Both. You seriously expect me to help you?" I smirked back
"You guys are my friends. I apologized to Ty Lee-" Azula started
"You? ACTUALLY apologized." I interrupted
"I knowit's crazy but she did. It sounded very sincere." Ty Lee said
"Okay, if you think she's being assassinated, why come to me? Get Zuko or the Avatar to help you protect her." I said
"1st, Zuko would try to kill me or put me back in the asylum if I told him his wife's life might be at risk, do you really think he'd believe me?" Azula asked.
"He'd probably think you're the one trying to kill her." Ty Lee laughed
"Exactly! And second, who better than to stop an assasinator than someone who knows their ways?" Azula said
"I haven't thrown a knife in about a year."
"You're lying." Azula said
"Could be." I shrugged
Izumi started crying all of a sudden.
"Looks like Izumi doesn't want me to go." I joked
"Izumi?" Azula asked
"It's her name. Izumi Takao." I said while trying to calm her down
"Takao, not Aryan?" Azula mumbled looking away
"I heard that."
"I mean you'd think it be Aryan since she's technically the heir to the throne." Ty Lee said shurgging
"We've been through this Ty Lee."
"Mai, is she really Zuko's daughter? I mean she has his eyes. Azula asked
"Zuko is not her father. I don't want him to be. He just helped make her."
"Do you think she's going to grow up not wanting a father?" Azula asked
"She'll grow up knowing she has me and that's all she needs." I said coldly. There was a tense silence for about a minute.
"You have your reasons to not want to help. I understand that. If you really hate Zuko that much." Azula started
"But they are still our friends right? Katara had been really supportive when she forgave us." Ty Lee said
"Why do you want to help them?" I asked looking at Azula.
"Because, I really have changed. If I help, I can prove that to Zuko and fix what has been broken." Azula said
"Whoever has been helping you did a good job." I joked
"That person was actuall Aang, can you believe that?" Ty Lee said
"I'll go." I said softly
"Really?" Ty Lee squealed
"What about Izumi?" Azula asked
"We're going to the Fire Nation right?"
They both nodded
"Then I know just where to leave her trust me." I looked at Izumi
I really don't why I joined. Bordem maybe as usual. But a part of me was just telling me to go. Maybe to see what kind of friendship we could have had. Maybe to not feel guilty. Confront Azula with the past? I hate emotions.
" You two can stay here till we're ready to leave." I said
"Looks like we're back in action. Bringing down another army." Ty Lee said doing random chi blocks in the air.
"Let's do this." Azula said smirking.
