"The time spent with children is never wasted."

"Thanks, Helen." Tobias thanked Helen as she handled the dishes, smiling at her while cleaning his hands as he gazed at the five children who were having their dessert.

Hayes, Harper, and Charee were having different flavored ice creams each, while he gave Nikki and Natalie some yogurt for them to feast on.

The six of them had just finished with their dinner and everything was peaceful so far.

Their Saturday was spent with all six of them swimming and playing by the pool, with Tobias handling calls here and there, but never taking his eyes off his kids.

The weekend was one of the times were he could spend his time freely with his children, and he wouldn't let work take all of his hours from them.

He wanted to be with them as much as he could, being the single father that he was.

It wasn't easy, but he was still grateful that he had help from people.

His firm's success also helped with managing finances, especially because he had two sets of twins plus one. The future would cost them large expenses and unpredictable situations, but at least he was prepared.

The financial aid that he also gets from his ex-wife helped around the house, and with Mrs. Helen and Dave, everything was much easier compared to last year. He didn't want to rely too much on other people to take care of the children, and he wanted to be a hands-on father as much as he could, but with their help, he also had the time to rest and care for himself.

Now, they even had Ms. Howard to be there for the children.

He could see how good she was, and how much the kids cared for her even with just the small time she spent with the five of them.

Just this morning, they were looking for Maureen when they woke up. It seems that they didn't know that when the weekend comes, it was time for Maureen's day off.

Tobias had the baby twins in his arms, easily carrying them as they descended the stairs, with Hayes and Charee following suit, as well as Harper who was tying her hair in a neat bun.

It was barely eight in the morning of the weekend, and the five of them were up early.

"Where's Maui?" Hayes asked, holding Charee's hands in his as they walked to the kitchen for breakfast.

"Maui?" Charee echoed, looking around at the living area and kitchen, not seeing the woman she was used to seeing every morning. It was Mrs. Helen who were arranging their plates on the table.

It was Mrs. Helen that answered their question, saying that it was the weekend and she was on her day off, doing things at her home and spending time with her family.

Hayes nodded, knowing what a day-off was, but Charee had another question coming.

"When she coming back?" the toddler asked, forgetting the 'is' in her sentence as she looked up at her Dad. Tobias had just set Nikki and Natalie down on their high chairs and Charee was clutching his legs as she looked up.

"On Monday, sweetheart. She's coming back on Monday." he answered as he picked her up, tossing her lightly and making her giggle before setting her down in her chair.

"When's that?" she asked once more, and Hayes was the one who answered her question then.

"In two sleeps, Char. She'll be back after two sleeps."

Charee nodded with an 'Okay' and focused on her plate, seeing the eggs and bacon and immediately getting her fork to eat.

It was nice to know that she was coming back. She thought that she'd never see Maui again.
