"Keeping you safe and protecting you is my second priority. Loving you and caring for you is first."
Maureen kept her patting Nikki's legs in a rhythmic pattern to keep him asleep during the ride, all the while keeping Natalie busy as she kept her entertained with her toys.
They were almost at the hotel where they booked for the whole weekend. The kids were just catching up on their afternoon nap after school, which was also dismissed early because of a teacher's meeting.
Tobias was in the driver's seat, with Mrs. Helen beside him as she stayed with the kids in the back.
A few minutes later and they have reached the hotel, with the kids wiping their eyes awake as they gathered their things and left the car to the valet.
The hotel employees greeted them with a smile, all of them greeting back as they helped with the luggage and helped them to the room they were staying.
It was a big suite, with three rooms that can accommodate all of them. Maureen and Mrs. Helen would share a room, Hayes, Harper, and Charee in one, while Tobias stays with the twins at the last one.
"Is everyone ready?" Tobias asked while helping Hayes and Harper with their backpacks. It was filled with some extra clothes, towels, snacks, water and some ID's.
Their first stop was Harper's and Charee's request. Ocean adventure.
"Yes, yes!" Charee cheered, already running towards their hotel door with her bag with her. Mrs. Helen was chuckling as she followed Charee to the door.
Maureen had the twin stroller ready, with the twins in it, along with their bags on the bottom carrier.
"Alright, alright, sweetheart. Calm down." Tobias chuckled as he too followed, making sure that they didn't leave anything behind. He walked towards Maureen, taking hold of the handle of the stroller and pushing the twins. "Here, let me."
Maureen smiled, following them out the door and locking the door behind her. She stayed with Harper and Hayes, letting her hands rest on their shoulder as the three of them walked together to the elevator.
Hayes smiled at her while looking up, feet bouncing in excitement as the elevator moved. Harper was a bit calmer than her twin, but she was obviously excited as well.
Their destination was a fifteen minute walk from the hotel, and the moment the kids took sight of the park entrance, it took words from all three adults to convince them not to run.
Which, of course, did not work.
Hayes and Harper had Charee between them as they ran to the counter hand in hand, Tobias following right after them as Maureen and Mrs. Helen waited for them by the side.
Maureen smiled as she watched the four of them by the ticket booth, Tobias now carrying the excited Charee in his arms as the twins peaked over the booth to see what was behind.
She was glad that they decided to spend the babies' birthday this way. All of them were happy and excited.
They walked to the entrance, all of them huddled together as a group as they started their adventure. Their first stop was to explore the fish for the remainder of the day, just until they had to go back to the restaurant for their scheduled dinner.
Maureen felt her smile stay at her face as she looked at the happy family.
Harper and Charee stayed together holding hands, the first ones to reach the aquarium as they awed and cooed at the fish and other sea creatures, while Hayes stayed with his dad as Tobias held Nikki.
