"She sprouted love like flowers, grew a garden in her mind. And even on the darkest days, from her smile the sun still shined."

Maureen giggled at the voice in the other end of the call. Kris was blabbering about the man that she met the other day.

"And then he invited me to a dinner with his friends. Should I go?" she asked, but not even a second later was another question. "Maybe I shouldn't? It's too early, and I don't even know if he's really interested."

"What do you think?"

Maureen opened her mouth, but didn't speak yet just in case Kris had another question to fire at her. A second passed without another word from her, so with a smile, Maureen replied.

"I think you should go." she nodded to herself, even though Kris wouldn't see. "You said it yourself. He seems nice."

"Yeah, but-" Kris continued to mumble, uttering words Maureen can't comprehend properly. Her whispering on the other line wasn't reaching Maureen's ears. With a groan, Kris cursed. "Fuck it, I'm just gonna wing it tomorrow."

Maureen laughed, knowing that she would indeed wing it tomorrow.

It wasn't the first time Kris had gone through something like this, meeting the friends and all. But not one time came that she wasn't a nervous wreck.

It was always the moment that she'd knew whether she wanted to stay with the guy or not. It all depends on how he acts around her, and the difference with how he acts with his friends.

Maureen thinks that its all the same with everyone. How one person treats another would say either the same or different way they treat you.

What matters is the sincerity.

"Anyway, how's work?" Kris asked, already knowing her friend's answer before she even spoke.

Maureen loved her job dearly.

"Everything's wonderful. The youngest are sleeping now, Charee's with me right now and the oldest are at their sleepovers." Maui answered with a smile, causing Kris to smile too. Just hearing the happiness in Maureen's voice was enough.

She deserved a job that gave her happiness. She was a person full of love, and she deserved nothing but goodness.

After a few more minutes of talking, they ended the call with a smile. Kris had to get back to work, and Maureen also needed to finish up with the bottles and get ready to pick up the kids.

"You doing okay there, sweetheart?" she asked Charee, who had two open books on her lap but was playing with the toys and pens in front of her by the living area. She was settled peacefully by the carpet, and her energy was at its peak so everything around her needed attention.

"Uh-huh..." the little girl nodded, not turning her head to look at Maureen but instead focusing on her drawing. "I'm okay."

Wiping the babies' bottles and drying them, Maureen set aside everything by the counter and leaving it inside the sterilizer as she walked towards Charee.

"What's that?" she asked, looking over at the drawing that she was making with her pens. The books on her lap were long ignored, while her two hands held two different colored pens as she used both to draw.

Multi-talented girl right here.

"That's me, and Dad, and Nikki, Natalie, and Hayes and Harper-" she rambled on, pointing at the stick people on her paper as she spoke. Maureen was about to ask who the last one was, but Charee answered before she could even ask. "And that's you. Maui."
