"You are a pure-hearted soul who can create a world of good feelings with just a single thought."
A beautiful house greeted Maureen as she parked her car by the space provided. It was a modern house, and it wasn't obvious in the outside that it had plenty children inside.
It was Monday, and she finished all the needed preparations that weekend.
She looked over to the passenger seat, seeing all her files. Her resume, medical documents, permits, and even the files informing her of the kids she'll take care of. Her suitcase, that contained some of her clothes, were at the backseat. She was to stay at the house every weekday, and go back home to her apartment each weekend, if she wasn't needed.
In this home, there were five kids. There were two sets of twins, the eldest and the youngest.
Harper and Hayes were 7 years old, the older twins. Charee was 4, and the younger twins were Nikki and Natalie, merely 2 years.
She couldn't deny that she was excited. The children were at the peek of their childhood, where they were to have fun and explore whatever they could. She loved children with all her heart.
As she got off her car and gathered her things, she inhaled a deep breath before she rang the bell.
The current housekeeper, Mrs. Helen, greeted her. She was the one who processed her application, and the one who she kept contact with on the phone. Mrs. Helen was a warm person, but she could be strict if she wanted to.
She had only met her Mr. Lawson, the children's father and her boss, one time after Mrs. Helen screened her application and second interview. Mr. Tobias Lawson was a nice guy, and his looks were distributed fairly to his kids.
All of them were beautiful children, and she couldn't wait to meet them.
"Good morning, Mrs. Helen." she greeted with a smile, her things clinging to her arms as she hugged them close.
"And to you, Ms. Howard." she greeted back, opening the front door wider for her to enter.
A man, the driver of the house, Dave, took her suitcase with a smile and a soft voice of greeting. He told her that he was to take her things to her room, while Mrs. Helen was to give her a house tour.
"Are they still asleep?" she asked, which Mrs. Helen nodded to, her eyes trained to the upper floor of the home.
It was only six forty-five in the morning, too early for children to be up at the last month of summer. Her first month would be easy, as all five kids were to stay at home during the summer, only going out when they need to.
The next, though, would be hard as Harper and Hayes were to start 2nd grade soon, and Charee was prepared to go to kindergarten.
Mrs. Helen lead Maureen by the lighted hallway. This house reminded her of those houses that were seen on YouTube, the one's offered for a free tour from real estate agents. From the front door, there was a hallway that was lighted by natural light, the right wall full of photographs, while the left was a thick glass looking over to a side garden. The space was perfect for a hallway, not to wide nor narrow.
