█▇▆▅▄▂▁ YOU SAT ON THE BENCH AS THE RAIN COMPLETELY SOAKS YOUR WHOLE BODY.
the rain, you had always hated it. yet you couldn't stay away from the gloomy weather. whenever the sky had gone cloudy and faint claps of thunder began to erupt, unconsciously your legs would start walking on its own to the usual bench in the small park near your neighbourhood.
completely drenched, you could finally hear your own thoughts talking inside your head. but the world felt very silent.
"you are not my daughter! a cursed child like you should've never been born into this family! from now on, you are better off dead══━"
that was what they say. and that was how you became a complete loner and began living by yourself at the age of 10. with a mind fresh as a newborn and zero ability of being independent. what a cruel fate for an innocent child.
years passed by and nothing had changed.
but all of a sudden, you couldn't feel the rain hitting you anymore. there was a dark shadow looming over your figure.
as you looked up, there stood a blonde boy beside you with nervous eyes staring at the sky. "it is very dangerous for you to be out here in this kind of weather and you're gonna get sick."
the first thing that came to your mind was, 'why couldn't he just mind his own business and act like those other people who just pass by?' yet you completely ignored him and buried your face into the tuck of your knees. "i didn't mean to make you feel uncomfortable! it's just that..you know what just take this umbrella and get home safely!" he gently grabbed your hand and passed the green coloured umbrella before running away with a plastic bag in his other hand.
"strange..don't you feel terrified stranger?"
▀▄▀▄▀▄
you went home after staying for another half an hour.
"home.." it didn't feel like home. not in the slightest way but who were you to complain? the apartment wasn't that big but it is comfortable enough for someone simple like you.
you avoided from stepping on the carpet so it wouldn't get wet. the rain soon stopped and it was silent again. it's just you───
a soft knock was heard from the door.
you wondered who could it be? was it your father? or maybe your mother? no, it can't be.
the door was knocked on again and you silently opened it with a blank expression, not knowing what to expect. your dull eyes met with a pair of lively ones. why is it..the boy who gave you the umbrella standing in front of you with a box of mochi in hand? "it-it's you! i didn't expect to meet you again so soon..wait how did i not know you were my neighbour?! this is weird-"
"what do you need?" your voice barely came out as a whisper and you hoped to god he heard it.
"my mom told me to give these mochi to our neighbours so..you're my neighbour too and um here you go!" he handed the cute box decorated with small cat stickers all over.
weird.
you tilted your head to the side and brushed his hair away before touching his forehead with your bare palms and he jolted by surprise with flushed cheeks, "what are you doing?!"
"your face is red..did you catch a cold?" he noticed that your clothes were not that wet anymore meaning you did use his umbrella! "it's nothing! my name is matsuno chifuyu by the way, what's yours?" he flashed a smile as you contemplated wether you should give him your name or not.
"no child of mine is cursed. begone from my sight and never come back here again══━"
no, don't tell him. are you trying to put him in danger? why should you risk an innocent boy's life over yours? "thank you for the mochi." and the door closed in an instant leaving the poor boy startled. you leaned back against the door, hoping he would leave.
why? why couldn't your heart stop beating so fast?
"that was the first time..someone has ever flashed a smile so brightly at me." you covered your face with both of your hands, the tiniest smile creeping onto your lips.
"i guess there are still angels like you in this world, matsuno-kun."
