You've never understood the concept of love.

Ever since you were little, your parents had abandoned you and left you all alone unattended, resulting you to survive on your own.

Your life changed at the age of 12 years old, a guy named Hatsu Suzume, took you under his wing and welcomed you into his gang. You were dumbfounded, innocent and young. Everything around you was still foreign, but all you know is the Kayoru Gang was a good one. They don't kill nor harm innocent people, they fight the bad ones.

Suzume taught you how to fight, how to defend yourself and even taught you the feeling of happiness.

He introduced you to different types of foods, different types of books and different types of people. He took good care of you, always ensuring that you eat well and get a good rest after a long day.

Soon enough as you reached 15, you became his right hand in the gang. The top in the food chain, and you had always accompanied him on different missions.

Your hands had stained with blood before, at first you felt guilty. You've come to a realisation that those people who had to die, deserved to die.

And that's how life works.

At the age of 16, your whole world turned upside down.

"Suzume-san, please hold on! I'm on my way."

You ran up the stairs, catching some breaths as the top was getting clearer.

Half an hour ago, you were informed that suzume got kidnapped and beaten up by an enemy of Kayoru. Suzume warned you not to come over but you couldn't bear to see him in danger.

The door was kicked down and you entered the room.

There was suzume, bloodied on the chair with his mouth and eyes taped shut. A gun was pointed to his head and it made you nervous.

"The ace of Kayoru is finally here." The guy wit a tattoo smirked, flickering his cigarette onto the ground.

"Suzume-san.."

He chuckled, pressing the gun on suzume's forehead. "You heard that, suzume? We eventually lured her here anyways and there's nothing you can do about it." Suzume yelled but it only came out as muffling noises.

"Y/n, isn't it? Come join our gang."

The offer made you feel disgusted. Why would he ever think that you'd betray suzume? He was everything to you.

"If you don't, we'll kill this precious leader of yours." He glides the tip of the gun into suzume's mouth with a playful grin.

"Whatcha say?"

You let out a small chuckle.

"Like hell i would."

In a flash, you took out your own gun and shot the guy on both of his arms while flipping the guy behind you to the wall, knocking him out cold. The guy with blonde hair reached out for his katana but you kicked it away, slamming your gun at the back of his head.

You ran over to suzume, untying his hands and carefully taking off the tape.

"Suzume-san?" You smiled, relieved that he was safe.

But you had let your guard down and failed to notice the alarmed look that suzume had on his face before he hugs your waist tight, and spun you around.
