Glumshanks and Kaos follow the latter's clone and the wolfman through a dense layer of mist and fog. The mist swirls around them, attempting to envelope the dark Portal Master's head.

"Ugh!" He brushes the Mist away. "How much longer do we have to trudge through this abominable smog?!"

"Only a little bit further, Kaos," the King of Chaos beams. "I can hardly wait for you to see the surprise."

"It'd better be worth it! I can hardly stand!"

"Oh, it will be."

Glumshanks frowns, looks down at Kaos. He whispers in his ear: "Uh, I don't think this is a good idea, sir."

"Nonsense! How can this be a bad idea?"

"For one, he doesn't strike me as a particularly truthful person. Secondly, he's probably aware that we were plotting to destroy him not even a couple of hours ago. Now we're blindly following him into unknown territory."

"Oh, Glumshanks," Kaos laughs, punching his butler's hip. "You're always using your heart rather than your brain."

"Uh..." the troll trails off.

"Don't you see, dimwit? It's not about trusting him, it's about trusting me."

Glumshanks frowns. "I'm not following, sir."

The Portal Master points at his mimic. "Clearly the fleabag trusts him. Since he's me, I can also trust the fleabag. Besides, who's a better judge of character than me?"

"I heard that," the wolf loudly says, pulling a passing branch aside, letting it snap back and smack Kaos in the face.

"Ow!" Kaos rubs a branch-shaped bruise on his forehead.

"How do you know that you can trust the other you?" Glumshanks murmurs.

"Just look at me... him... us! We're oozing with evil trust!"

"Are you?"

The King of Chaos clears his throat, points at a large wall of pitch-black mist. "We're here. Your surprise awaits you on the other side, Kaos."

The clone nods at him as the wolf-man steps through the wall.

The Portal Master beams. "See? He winked! He's clearly trustworthy." He steps through the wall.

He emerges in a large clearing shaped like a dome. The Mist storms along the edges. An inky tear in reality floats at the center of the dome.

The wolf, smiling, strides up to the rift. "This... is your surprise, Kaos."

"It looks so evil!" Kaos jumps up, squeals.

"They," the King corrects.

Kaos' not-eyebrows furrow. "What?"

The dark rift begins convulsing, expelling more black mist. Soon a familiar-looking head replaces the rift. Kaos gawks.

"Hello, Kaos," the Darkness says. "It's been a long time."

The Portal Master yelps, ducking behind his butler. "How... how are you... I thought the Superchargers destroyed you!"

The Darkness lets out a taunting, booming laugh. "Is that what you really think happened? Such incorrect thinking. They merely banished me to a void of nothingness. As you can see, I'm nearly free."

"But..." Kaos glares at his clone. "YOU! BETRAYED! ME! HOW COULD I... YOU... DO THIS TO US... ME! You know what I mean!"

"Calm down," they command. "You're making a fool of yourself. Both the King of Chaos and Kaos 2.0. are infinitely better than you. You'll just have to accept it."
