Camp Cretaceous (OC Fanfiction)

At Least...

The kids walked closely together. There was a light coming from the end of the cave. The sunlight blinded the kids but once their eyes adjusted to the light, the sight of an open desert appeared

"Okay? Where's the rest of the island?" Janae questioned. "Definitely not Costa Rica" Brooklyn says. "It looks more like...Australia? But there's no way we went that far" Darius guessed

Out of nowhere, Kenji's hand met Darius's face. Darius was beyond confused "Kenji, what are you doing?" He asks. "Making sure we're not dead. Cause if we're dead, we'd be ghosts, and if we're ghosts, I'd be able to go through you" Kenji spoke

"We're not dead!" Darius slaps Kenji's hand away. "Well now we know. You're welcome" Kenji said. "Ok so we know where we aren't, any idea where here is?" Brooklyn asked

"Not Costa Rica, that's for sure" Janae groaned. "Hey guys, look!" Ben slides down the cliff "Over there in the distance. Something shiny!" He points out. There was something shiny over the golden desert

"I see it! Maybe it's the sun reflecting off of some metal?" Sammy guessed. "Something metal could mean someone had to make it. We got to go check it out!" Ben says

"Hang on. You want us to go walking across a blazing hot desert just because you saw something shiny?" Kenji questioned. "We have no idea what's out there" Darius said

"Which never stopped us before" Janae shrugged her shoulders. "There aren't even dinosaurs here! So logically, this should be easier. So let's go out there and you know, survive!" Ben pumped up the situation

"It's worth a shot" Yaz agrees. Everyone goes along with Ben's speech. Janae slides down the long rock, making it safely to the ground

The kids walk around cautiously, waiting for anything to happen. "This place is weird. It's like another planet or something. Maybe we got abducted by aliens..." Kenji started

"Because that makes perfect sense" Brooklyn chuckled. "No, that...that would be dumb. It's dumb. Never mind. What? No, you shut up" Kenji stammered

Brooklyn looked at him confused but she shrugged it off. "As if dinosaurs weren't enough, now we're washed up on some deserted island" Yaz groans

"Well at least it's a nice day?" Ben tried to lighten the mood. "At least there aren't any mosquitoes" Sammy added. Yaz slightly laughs "Yeah, at least we're not being tortured for eternity by vampires"

"Oh I got one! At least, it's like the beach but with no ocean" Kenji also adds. "Ooo that's a good one" Sammy squealed. "Eh, needs more vampires" Yaz says

What seemed like forever but it was really 5 minutes, the kids walking and walking in the hot sun. "At least we aren't being tortured by demons in a fiery pit of fire" Yaz slugs at her words

"You sure about that?" Brooklyn asked. Janae huffs "At least we aren't being kept against our will by money hungry adults" She sighs. Suddenly, a cool breeze swept the area, everyone felt relieved

"Uh guys?" Sammy informed the group. They all turn around to see this huge sandstorm coming straight towards them. "A sandstorm! Great, another thing to add to the bucket list" Janae says

"What do we do?" Sammy asks. "We always outran those pesky storms on Nublar! Run!" Ben yells. The group of kids run for their lives but it wasn't enough

The sandstorm eventually caught up to them. Janae couldn't see anything in front of her, she started to panic. "Brooklyn! Sammy! Guys!" No response at all

"Kenji! Darius-" All of a sudden, Janae's foot floated into a unknown abyss. She fell forward in the thin air. "Ah!" She screamed, falling completely off the little hill above. Her back collided with something hard as she reached the bottom...or maybe she landed on someone
