The Final Test

Janae woke up feeling very relaxed, she felt weird about it. She heard sounds while she was gaining conscience and the smell of breakfast. While she was yawning, Kenji walked through the door

"Good morning, camp fam!" He happily says. "Morning!" Darius and Brooklyn responded. Janae walked over to the table of food, Darius stiffened a laugh "You look like you fought someone in your sleep" He said, motioning to the sleep marks on her face

"That was probably the best sleep I have ever had." She grabbed a plate as she places two donuts, sausage, pancakes, eggs, and a cup of apple juice. As she got her food, she sat down at the table with Yaz and Sammy, they were close enough to the others to hear the conversation

Janae prayed over her food before digging into the eggs first. "You sure are hungry" Sammy commented. Janae nodded her head, agreeing with her. Yaz leans in "So are you going to tell us about you and Ben?"

Janae slightly choked on her eggs. "There's nothing going around. Sure, he likes to compliments me and makes sure that I'm okay but we all do that"

"Yeah but for you, Ben means it. You might not see it but we do" Sammy says, pointing to her and Yaz "Just look at him"

All three girls turned to see Ben at the food table. He noticed the girls and waved at them but for Janae, it was a bright smile. "See?" Sammy squeals quietly. Janae thought about what she said, it was true, his actions were a little bit different with her

"Okay so maybe he has a liiiiiiiiiiiitle crush" Janae exaggerated her words. "A little? Please, you two were holding hands while you were asleep. If that's a crush, I want to know what he would do if he like likes you" Sammy says

Janae knew her friend was right but she wanted to see for herself. "Where is Kenji going?" Yaz pointed out. Janae looked behind her seeing Kenji walking out of the door. "Maybe he's going to go see his dad?"She questioned

"But no worries about that, I'm digging into this food!" Janae happily says. Sammy and Yaz laugh at her but they dug into their food too.

A little later, Janae played cards with Yaz and Sammy as Kenji walks through the door with boxes in his hands. Janae noticed this "You plan on moving?" She jokingly said. "Haha, it's for my date with Brooklyn"

All three girls were surprised "I'm sorry, did you say date?" Yaz questioned. "Yeah but I got to hurry. I still have to set up for Dad's cocktail party" He says

"We'll help. For once, our lives aren't in danger so-" Yaz agrees. "I would do it even if they were" Sammy squeals. Sammy happily walks over to him to take the boxes, Yaz and Janae stands up to help out

"Okay I'm thinking rose petals everywhere" Sammy started to imagine. Yaz grunts "Not sure Brooklyn is a rose petal kind of girl. I think we should do a picnic"

"Picnic? That's just lunch on a blanket. We need candles and desserts and-" Sammy started to sidetrack but Kenji easily stopped them "Simple. Brooklyn likes simple. Only what's inside this box, okay?"

"We got you, Kenj. It's your date after all" Janae patted his shoulder. Kenji gave her a small smile. As Sammy and Yaz looked through the boxes, Kenji places a hand on Janae's shoulder "We should probably talk later" He whispered as he walks out of the door

Janae furrowed her eyebrows, what did he have to talk about? "Janae, what are you doing? Come help us, we have to make this one count" Sammy excitedly says

Janae chuckles "Alright, alright. I'm coming"

Sammy, Yaz, and Janae gawked at the scenery they made. "I can't wait until he sees this" Janae says with excitement. Just then, the door opened, Kenji came through with his eyes widened. "We may have gone overboard with the lights" Sammy stated
