Evasive Action

The kids sat down together in still quietness. What could they do? They're stuck without no escape plan. It started to get to the point where Yaz started to do sit-ups

Janae had cradled up, having her chin sitting on top of her arms. She's stumped. "He left us" Brooklyn said quietly "I can't believe he just left us"

It's more heartbreaking for Brooklyn. Sammy scooted closer to Brooklyn to comfort her "I don't get it" she threw her hands up

"Why would Kenji do this?" Yaz questioned. "You think you know a guy" Ben shook his head. Sammy zoned out for just a second "Yeah, what you all said"

She turned around to let Darius engage with them "What do you think, Dar-?" She was cut off by him holding up a finger "Four, three, two, one" He's counting

All of a sudden, the door opens to reveal a BRAD-X. It comes to check on the kids to see if they were up to something. "All counted for" Just like that, it left

"Alright guys. That BRAD patrols every half hour. Which means we have 30 minutes to find a way outta here" Darius told the group

Everyone got up to start looking around, if they're escaping, they're escaping together. Brooklyn and Sammy tried to break apart the glass door, not much success going on

Yaz held Ben by his feet "Oh uh a little to the left. Okay okay, maybe if I can get my foot on this-" Instant fail

Ben tried to climb on top of this latch but him and Yaz immediately fell. "Maybe next time, you don't step on my face?"

Ben laughs "I'm sorry, it's just when I said left, I thought you went left. My bad" While the others were laughing, Janae tried to look around for a more obvious escape

"Hey Darius, I know this whole Kenji thing must be hard..." She overheard Brooklyn talking to Darius "What are you doing?"

A metal clank was heard. Janae turned around to see Darius opening some sort of sewer but as soon as she walked over, the smell hit her in the face

"Ugh!" Janae gagged. "Why does it smell so bad?" Sammy pinched her nose. "Pretty sure this is a sewer" Yaz said

Footsteps were heard, the BRAD is coming. Janae and Darius quickly put the lid back on before it came in. The BRAD steps into the room to do it's usual scanning

"All accounted for" It leaves again. Once the door closed, Darius pulls off the lid. Everyone stared down in the sewer before looking at each other

Yaz takes the first leap them Janae, then Sammy, Ben, Brooklyn and finally Darius. So far so good. "That thing knows we're here. We gotta go" Darius says. "This way? Or maybe this way?" Sammy pointed in two different directions.

"I don't know. We just have to pick one-" Darius was cut off by a splashing sound. The kids look over to see a rippling in the water, meaning something is in here with them. Just then, heavy footsteps came around the corner

"I vote not that way" Yaz says. Janae nodded her head, agreeing with her. Darius motions the group to follow him in the opposite direction. Once they were able to get far away as possible, they slowed down

"I knew from the moment I met him, he was gonna be trouble" Ben stated. "I can't believe I trusted him" Yaz continued. Janae listened to what they were all saying. "He was all smug in that crisp suit. It's like try hard much?" Brooklyn said

"And now because of him, we're walking through toilet water being chased by BRADs" Ben told the group "Thanks Kenji"

"Yeah, thanks Kenji" Sammy said. Janae found that statement not to convincing. "Wait. You guys think this is Kenji's fault?" Brooklyn stopped her tracks. "Um yeah." Yaz bluntly admits. "It's his dad's fault, obviously" Brooklyn says
