(10) A Mothers Past?

Turns out I didn't delete the chapter, it just wasn't coming up. So here is chapter 10 for you guys.

We looked at her parents and they looked... angry? Her father looked at me with disgust and I swear if looks could kill I'd be six feet under.

"So it's true then Ashlyn? There is an O'Neil in this house. A traitor to our kind".

"Dad! She's not like them!"

"NO! They're all the same Ashlyn. They're traitors!!"

"Geez Dad stop being so irrational! You always taught Nick and I to give everyone a chance no matter what they may or may not have done! Are you telling me to go back on that now?! HUH?"

"Ashlyn I didn't mean it like that I'm so-"

He looked so beaten and guilty that I took pity on him.

"No dad stop calling me Ashlyn, it's Ash. Just Ash!"

"I'm sor-"

"Just stop Dad," she sighed "I'll be in my room"

I was confused "How am I a traitor? I only found out about werewolves being real today"

Jess sighed "Come on sit down," I sat down on one of the couches and listened " Back when I was in high school I had a best friend, she was the most caring, kind, nerdy person I knew. My current brother in-law was dating her sister. When he turned 16 which is the age that werewolves are able to find their mate he discovered that my best friends sister was his mate but, she rejected him when she found out what he was, so she told her sister. Her sister thought she was crazy until she saw it herself, that was an unfortunate day because to them it seemed like a normal, peaceful, sunny morning (apart from finding out about werewolves) so they went to school. I started talking to them and my best friend mentioned what she had seen. Her exact words were

"I was talking to Suzie and then it came. It was huge and had silvery grey fur and it howled at Suzie, so we ran, this thing sprinted after us until Suzie told it to stop. It listened to her and I don't know why it did, but it did. Then it changed, changed into John."

"Thats when I knew my boyfriends brother had gone too far. My best friend and her sister never spoke to him or trusted him again. The day before graduation Suzanne committed suicide. She wrote a note saying that she couldn't take it anymore, that she couldn't not be with John but that she hated what he was. He got a hold of the note and stormed up to my house with a knife saying that it was my fault that she didn't like what he was because I hadn't told them and that it was her sisters fault for not being at home with her as she was staying at my house."

"He went over the top that day. he cut beside my eye," she said pointing to the scar beside her eye "to 'teach me a lesson' about family and what they should and shouldn't do to each other"

"Then my best friend told her boyfriend Andrew about what happened and he came to school with a knife stashed in his bag, he told John to meet him in the woods after school. Not knowing what he was about to walk into he obliged and met Andrew in the forest. When John got there he could sense something was up so he tried to get away but Andrew wouldn't let that happen. Not without leaving John with a mark saying that if he ever hurt the people he loved again he'd kill him."

"A couple of days later John ran away and become a rogue. No-one, not even his own family could find him. Then to put the cherry on that cake, in the middle of the madness my best friend came to my house and told me that she was pregnant. I did the only thing I could think of. I took her to Andrews house so she could tell him that he was going to be a father. When she came out of the house she was in tears and was sobbing her heart out."

"Do you know what she told me? She told me that Andrew kicked her out because he wasn't ready. But he came to his senses a week later when he realized what she was going through and that the baby would need a dad that would support him or her. She being the most amazing person she was decided to keep the baby and finish her senior year with Andrew, me and the rest of her friends because there was only 3 months left of school. But things didn't go to plan because when her friends found out she was pregnant, instead of supporting her like good friends they shamed her and bullied her. They told the whole school and everyone laughed at her."

"She cried herself to sleep every night because everyone thought it was slutty and horrible to be pregnant at 18".

"But by the end of the 9 months she said all the teasing and bullying was worth it because she had a beautiful baby girl who she loved more than she hated being teased."

"After almost a decade she and Andrew were still together and a few months after her daughter had turned 9 she found out she was pregnant again. After 7 months she went and got the babies gender checked so she could design the room. She found out it was going to be another girl. Another 1 and 1/2 months went by when she had her baby. This was where things started to go downhill for my friend and Andrew. Andrew became an alcoholic and started cheating on my best friend. When she found out she was heartbroken but her daughters were the only thing on her mind. Andrew left her in a drunken fury. My best friend moved as soon as she got out of highschool so we could only video-chat and call each other. But when her youngest daughter turned 7 she wanted to move back here because she was tired of being in the house that Andrew and her lived in. So she did move back."

"She now lives in a light blue and cream colored house with her oldest daughter going to the highschool that we went to."

"Kaitlyn my best friend is your mother Jessamine"
